Raffles Tokyo has been announced as the first Raffles hotel in Japan and the fourth in East Asia, after Raffles' three hotels in China. It will be located in Tokyo’s iconic World Trade Center (WTC) in the Hamamatsuchō district, across the street from the Hamamatsucho Station, making it the most convenient luxury hotel option for travelers arriving or departing Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND), since the Tokyo Monorail takes travelers between HND and Hamamatsucho Station in less than 20 minutes. Other nearby sights include the Tokyo Tower and Zojo-ji Temple, both located in Shiba Park, Tokyo's oldest public park. Tokyo Station is an easy 7-minute ride on the Keihin-Tohoku line.
One of our favorite things about many Tokyo luxury hotels, such as the Four Seasons Tokyo at Otemachi, Aman Tokyo, the Park Hyatt Tokyo, Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, etc.) is that they're located on the top floors of skyscrapers (in the U.S., they're almost always on lower floors, since private residences and penthouses occupy the top floors). The Raffles Tokyo will likewise enjoy these sky-high views, occupying the top 46 floors of the building when it opens in the redeveloped World Trade Center building in 2028.
Raffles Tokyo will be designed by Layan, whose other hotel work includes The Ritz-Carlton Nikko, The Ritz-Carlton Fukuoka and The PuLi Hotel in Shanghai, among others. The hotel will feature 130 guest rooms, including 27 suites, with sweeping panoramic city views. Other amenities will include six food and beverage outlets, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness studio, swimming pool, and spa and bathhouse.
