One Forty Four Seasons Lanai Review

One Forty Four Seasons Lanai Review

.

Our One Forty at Four Seasons Lanai Review is from our 2022 site inspection; stay tuned for our updated Four Seasons Lanai review. One Forty serves both breakfast and dinner (for Four Seasons guests only) daily. Curious about the name? One Forty refers to the fact that Lanai is one hundred forty square miles in size.

.

One Forty Location and Hours

One Forty is conveniently located off of the open air lobby, to the left as you face the ocean (Nobu Lanai is to the right). Breakfast is served 6:30-11am, while dinner reservations are from 5:30-9:30pm. As with all luxury hotels and resorts post-pandemic, we strongly recommend making all dinner reservations well in advance of your stay.

One Forty Breakfast

TravelSort Clients enjoy complimentary daily full breakfast as a Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits. We recommend arriving on the earlier side, to be able to snag one of the front row tables and take in the beautiful view over a juice or smoothie.

If you don't, you'll still have a more distant view of the ocean, but it will be somewhat blocked by diners:

We nearly always order yogurt with fresh fruit and granola, and this was superb at One Forty, tasting every bit as good as it looked:

Our favorite breakfast main dish was the Ahi Eggs Benedict. I ordered it twice, although the first time I ended up giving much of it to my son, who had ordered the Multigrain Bowl and found it “too healthy” (teenagers!)

My husband particularly enjoyed the French Toast, crispy bacon one morning, and Pancakes the next, while our son liked his Lychee Waffle, which was so generous he couldn't finish it.

One Forty Dinner

We had two of our dinners at One Forty, and both started with a complimentary seafood amuse bouche, which was ahi one evening, and hamachi the other:

This was followed by freshly baked bread rolls, which arrived piping hot with butter and pink salt:

The menu has enough choices for most appetites, with a focus on seafood and meat, although there are quite a few vegetarian options as well among the small plates and pastas.

Of the appetizers we tried, our favorites were the Seared Diver Scallops and the Burrata Caprese:

Of the mains, we particularly enjoyed the Sichuan Pepper Crusted Ahi, although it's pricey for the amount of ahi provided.

Similarly, while tasty, the Seafood Rigatoni seemed too expensive for the amount of seafood included, although to be fair, it's very expensive bringing ingredients into Lanai.

The pricing of the main dishes made side dishes a comparatively good deal; we enjoyed all of them, from the Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese to the Coconut Creamed Spinach to the Sauteed Wild Mushrooms:

The Verdict

One Forty is even better than we remember from our visit a few years ago. While post-pandemic there's no longer a breakfast buffet, we greatly enjoyed the a la carte menu, particularly the Ahi Benedict, French Toast, yogurt with fruit and granola, and smoothie. Dinner mains are quite pricey, reflecting the cost of importing items to Lanai, but preparation was flawless, and we appreciated the complimentary amuse bouche and wonderful warm homemade bread with butter that started our meals. Highlights were the burrata and scallop appetizers, as well as the peppered ahi main.
