Oetker Collection will open a St. Tropez resort in 2027, its 13th hotel worldwide and its 6th French property (others include Le Bristol Paris, Hotel du Cap Eden Rock, and Eden Rock St. Barths).
The hotel will be a complete reconstruction on the former site of the Le Mas Bellevue St Tropez, located about a 1 hour 45 minute drive from Nice Airport (NCE) on the French Riviera. Another top luxury competitor, Cheval Blanc St. Tropez, is less than a 10 minute drive away. Unlike Cheval Blanc, which is by the ocean, the Oetker property will be inland, albeit a short 10 minute drive from the Pampelonne beaches. Timo Gruenert, CEO of Oetker Collection, notes “We want to create our own little village inside St. Tropez.”
Oetker St. Tropez Rooms and Amenities
The as yet unnamed property, designed by architects Triptyque and with interiors by Gilles & Boissier (whose work also includes the Mandarin Oriental Ritz Madrid and The Baccarat Hotel New York), will feature 53 rooms and suites, each with a private terrace or patio. These will be set among landscaped gardens in eleven two-story houses on a hill, many with sea views. The design will feature warm colors and wooden beams. “We want to keep this authentic Provencal atmosphere and not have it be over the top,” Gruenert says. “But we still want to have it represent what comes to your mind when you think of St. Tropez, which is elegant and glamorous.”
There will also be an oversize infinity pool, spacious wellness facility, and a signature restaurant and bar.
