There's currently a 35000 Mile Signup Bonus for the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature card. This is almost as good as the 40,000 mile offer available last year. I do not receive a referral for this link, but to my knowledge it's the best offer. Details:
- Earn 35,000 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan bonus points
- Bonus miles are credited to your Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account 1-2 weeks after approval
- $75 annual fee is not waived the first year
- Earn 1 mile for every $1 of net purchases
- Earn 3 miles for every $1 of Alaska Airlines ticket or vacation package purchases
- Annual companion fare from $110 ($99 base fare plus taxes and fees, from $11 depending on flight itinerary)
Many folks get the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature card for the companion fare, in order to fly first class with their spouse or friend to Hawaii (see the recent scare when it seemed as though this might be going away, Alaska Airlines Visa Companion Ticket-No More First Class?)
That said, there are some other great redemptions, such as Cathay Pacific to South Africa roundtrip in first class with a free stopover in Hong Kong for 140,000 Mileage Plan miles, Qantas roundtrip in business class from North America to Australia for 110,000 miles, and Air France roundtrip in business class from North America to Tahiti for 120,000 miles. Since there's been a spate of credit card offers coming and going, if you think you do want the Alaska Airlines Signature Visa, you might want to apply soon, especially since Bank of America, the card issuer, generally does *not* bonus match.
