Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle Location and Check-In
As its name implies, the hotel is located right at Zurich Airport (ZRH), just a five minute walk after exiting the airport. Follow signs to “The Circle” and bear to the right, following signs to the Hyatt Regency. Once inside, take the elevator bank to the left to ascend to the lobby, which is on the second floor.

.
Near the reception and Concierge Desk, there's ample lobby seating, some of it by a gas fireplace.

.
King Park View Room
I was only staying overnight, so I reserved an entry level King Room, but the associate who checked me in, whom I had an interesting conversation with about languages in Switzerland, kindly upgraded me to a King Park View Room. While not that large, at 247 sq. ft., it was ample, particularly as I was traveling alone.
An open closet with luggage shelf was on the right, followed by coffee/tea facilities and a long desk.

.
Complimentary bottled water was provided, in addition to tea and coffee. The mini fridge was empty, which I prefer, since I never purchase mini fridge beverages.

.

.
Although there was a Nespresso machine, the capsules were by Julius Meinl; tea was by Sirocco of Switzerland.

.

.
Since I only had a European plug adapter with me, I appreciated that the outlet by the desk took European as well as Swiss plugs.

.
I liked the greenery afforded by the park view. The bed, as usual for a Hyatt, was too firm for my taste, but to be expected. A Four Seasons this is not.

.

.
The bathroom is compact but modern and functional: single sink, large round mirror, walk-in rain shower, and as usual for Hyatt Regency, Pharmacopia Argan Oil bath products in large dispensers.

.

.

.
I did wish that there was a solid door separating the toilet from the rest of the bathroom: there was no separation between it and the rest of the bathroom. It wasn't an issue for me traveling solo, but if I'd been there with my husband or a friend, it would have meant that only one of us could have used the bathroom at a time.

.
Breakfast at Babel Restaurant
Babel Restaurant has a breakfast buffet from 6-10am weekdays and 6-11am weekends. I liked the restaurant's high ceilings.

.
The breakfast buffet is higher quality than I expected for a Hyatt Regency: a good quality salad bar; cheese board; yogurt, bircher muesli and labneh; smoked salmon and cold cuts; cereals and jams; and bread pudding in addition to cakes (although pastries needed to be replenished).

On warm days, the outdoor terrace, shaded by umbrellas, is an attractive option:

The Verdict
Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle is a good step above most airport hotels, and for those who don't mind a 20-minute commute to Zurich's city center, it could easily be a more budget-friendly base than downtown hotels. I liked how quiet my room was, the greenery of the park view, the rain shower and modern bathroom, the in-room Nespresso and empty mini fridge, and the friendly reception staff. I do wish that the toilet had a separate door (although it wasn't an issue for my solo stay) and that the bed's mattress was less firm and more comfortable, although this is a chronic issue with most Hyatt hotels.
