Chase and Citi Will Cover the Increased $120 Global Entry Fee (from $100 currently), which will be effective October 1, 2024. These cards will cover the increased fee:
- Chase Sapphire Reserve (up to $100 reimbursement for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS application fee every 4 years)
- United Explorer
- United Club Visa Infinite
- United Quest
- IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card
- IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card
- Aeroplan Card
- Southwest Rapid Rewards Performance Business Credit Card
- J.P. Morgan Reserve
- Citi/AAdvantage Executive
We don't recommend the Citi AAdvantage Executive MasterCard, which only reimburses the Global Entry fee every 5 years, instead of every 4 years. We're still waiting for AMEX and Capital One to confirm if they'll increase the Global Entry fee reimbursement to $120 when the fee goes up.
Along with the Global Entry fee increase, the NEXUS application fee will also increase to $120 (from $50 currently). If your and/or your partner's/family's Global Entry privileges will expire in one year or less, it's worth applying prior to October, especially since Global Entry renewal can take one year or more.
The silver lining, for families with minor children, is that kids under 18 who apply or renew their Global Entry (or NEXUS or SENTRI) will NOT pay a fee if their parent or legal guardian is already a member or is concurrently applying for the same program.
