Our Cheval Blanc Paris Review, Photos, and Video are from our 2022 stay. Opened in September 2021, Cheval Blanc Paris is the fifth Cheval Blanc hotel, after Courchevel, Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives, St. Barth's, and St. Tropez. Cheval Blanc is the luxury hotel and resort brand of LVMH, best known for its Louis Vuitton, Moët & Chandon, Dom Pérignon, Christian Dior, and Bulgari brands. Château Cheval Blanc, also owned by LVMH, is one of the elite wine producers in Saint-Emilion, hence its selection as an ultra-luxury hotel brand.

Cheval Blanc Paris Location and Getting There
Cheval Blanc Paris is located at 8 Quai du Louvre, the only Paris luxury hotel located directly by the Seine River. It's about a 35 minute drive without traffic from Paris CDG Airport, and about a 26-28 minute drive without traffic from Paris Orly (ORY) Airport. We especially like the hotel's convenient location, since it's only a 4 minute walk to the Louvre Museum, a 12 minute walk to Notre Dame, and a 17-18 minute walk to the Musee d'Orsay or to Pierre Herme's flagship rue Bonaparte store in the Saint-Germain-des-Pres area for fantastic pastries and macarons. The hotel's easy walking distance to the Rive Gauche and Latin Quarter is truly ideal, since this caliber of hotel simply isn't available on the Left Bank.

Seine Junior Suite, Cheval Blanc Paris
We were upgraded to a Seine Junior Suite on the second floor. These spacious rooms are 600 square feet (55 square meters). Our eye was immediately drawn to the winter garden, where there are floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the view of the Pont Neuf and the Seine, while seated in comfortable chairs. The windows partially open if fresh air is desired, but when they're closed, the room is soundproofed from virtually all street noise.
.
The king bed was sumptuous and so comfortable that we were reluctant to get out of it in the morning.
.
The welcome amenities were delicious and thoughtful: a beautiful “tart” made entirely of fresh raspberries, strawberries and melon balls; a bottle of red wine; a white Italian-made hat for me, and a baseball hat for my husband, as well as a key chain.
.
Our son liked the fact that all the non-alcoholic drinks in the mini bar are complimentary; this organic apricot-apple juice was a particular favorite:
.
The marble bathroom is stunning. Normally I dislike bathrooms that open up to the bedroom, because it's all too easy to forget to lower the shades such that someone going to the bathroom in the night ends up waking everyone else up, but this wasn't an issue here as the toilet is a separate room off of the hallway. The result is that you can soak in the deep bathtub while enjoying natural light, or talk to a partner.
.
Alternatively, if you prefer a shower, the large walk-in rain shower will likely accommodate you even if you play in the NBA. You also have a choice of two kinds of shampoo, both made exclusively for Cheval Blanc by French natural beauty specialist Leonor Greyl.
.
I wondered at first where facial tissues were, but after I opened the drawers under the vanity, I discovered a plethora of toiletries. There's even a mini fridge in the bathroom for higher maintenance people than us, who require their cosmetics kept chilled.

Swimming Pool and Wellness at Cheval Blanc Paris
The hotel's spa and wellness facilities are below the lobby. The swimming pool, which is open from 6:30am-10pm exclusively to hotel guests, is nearly 100 feet long (30 meters) although it looks longer, thanks to a mirrored wall. The gorgeous aquamarine mosaics were designed by Michael Mayer of Munich, while the virtual fresco is by Franco-Israeli artist Yorame Mevorach, also known as Oyoram.
.
We were the only ones in the pool when we visited, even though the hotel was nearly completely sold out at the time. For families with young children, there are floaties, kick boards, pool noodles and goggles available.
.
Other wellness facilities include a Finnish sauna, hammam steam room, and even a snow room to cool down in:
.
There are also refreshments: fresh fruit, Evian water, and housemade grain bars and energy balls:

Cheval Blanc has three restaurants, as well as a rooftop garden lounge and bar in warmer months. Breakfast is served from 7am at Le Tout-Paris, the hotel's brasserie on the 7th floor, which also serves lunch and dinner. Langosteria, also on the 7th floor, serves Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner Wednesdays-Sundays, while the hotel's 3-Michelin-Star Plénitude serves dinner only from Wednesdays-Sundays, 7-11pm.

Le Jardin on the 7th floor offers al fresco drinks at its bar and shaded seating, with a view of the Eiffel Tower:

The Verdict
Cheval Blanc Paris was by far our favorite Paris luxury hotel stay of our most recent site inspection stay and also our favorite Paris hotel stay of the last several years. While there are areas for improvement (the Concierge service can be overwhelmed, impeding a prompt response, and the dinner music at Le Tout-Paris was too much like dance club music for our taste) these concerns were dwarfed by the overall experience. We loved the attention to detail in the design of our Seine Junior Suite, from the extremely comfortable bed and linens to the light-filled winter garden area, walk-in closet/dressing room, abundance of tasteful welcome amenities, and bathroom mini fridge (even if I didn't actually have a use for it). The gorgeous pool area was serene, with no other guests during our swim, even though the hotel was nearly fully booked during our stay. And if our teen was a young child, we've no doubt he would have loved the Le Carrousel kids' club, similar to how he didn't want to leave Cheval Blanc Randheli's kids' club in the Maldives.
