Anguilla is a Favorite Caribbean Beach Getaway, But the Problem is Getting There. Most end up flying to St. Martin/St. Maarten SXM, then taking the ferry, or flying into San Juan SJU then take a Tradewind Aviation flight. Fortunately, for those able to fly via Miami, a new American Eagle flight operated by Envoy Air starts December 11, 2021, with twice weekly flights on Saturdays and Wednesdays. There's some variation with the departure times, which can range from 10:24am-11am from MIA, but the following is typical:
- AA3780 departs MIA 10:50am, arrives AXA 2:49pm
- AA3780 departs AXA 3:40pm, arrives MIA 5:53pm
The flights are roughly 3 hours, with the return from AXA-MIA slightly longer.
Unfortunately we've only seen a few of these flights opened to American Airlines partners such as Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan and British Airways Executive Club, but if available, we'd recommend reserving with British Airways Avios, where we've seen rates as low as 11,000 Avios + $10.60 for an economy award. That's actually a bit higher than the 10,000 AAdvantage miles for the same date, but Avios are much easier to earn thanks to transfers from Chase Ultimate Rewards and AMEX Membership Rewards category bonuses. If unavailable to partners, you'll need to use AA miles to reserve these awards.

Where to Stay in Anguilla
We recommend the Four Seasons Anguilla, especially for extended families and groups of friends, as the multi-bedroom villas are fantastic. TravelSort Clients enjoy Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits, including a $200 resort credit per bedroom once per stay, so a 5-bedroom beachfront villa would include $1000 resort credit in addition to the other Preferred Partner benefits of complimentary breakfast, either taken in the restaurant or via in-room dining, and early check-in/late check-out subject to availability.
.
We also recommend Belmond Cap Juluca, which has an even better beach than the Four Seasons, and where we reserve clients with Belmond Bellini Club benefits. Don't forget that an additional Bellini Club benefit, for stays of at least $5000 pre-tax, is a $500 gift voucher for use on a future Belmond experience (must be a different property or train).
