Andaz Palm Springs to Open Early 2020

Updated: Previously the hotel was targeting a Fall 2019 opening, but that's been pushed to early 2020.

The Andaz Palm Springs Will Open in Early 2020, an anticipated new opening for the Palm Springs area, which currently lacks a strong luxury contender given the inconsistent experiences offered by older properties such as The Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage and La Quinta Resort, a Waldorf-Astoria.

Hyatt's press release announced 40 Hyatt hotels that will open in West Coast locales by the end of 2021 (most of them budget properties, under the Hyatt House and Hyatt Place brands, although in the luxury segment, the Park Hyatt Los Angeles at Oceanside Plaza, and the Grand Hyatt at SFO). The Andaz Palm Springs has undergone numerous delays since 2016, due to problems both with its financial backing and with contractors.

The hotel will be located at 400 North Palm Canyon Drive, in the Uptown Design District, home to great shopping, bars, and restaurants such as Eight4Nine, about a 10 minute walk away, and Copleys on Palm Canyon, a 5 minute walk. The Palm Springs Art Museum is just an 8 minute walk away.

The Andaz Palm Springs will have an outdoor pool, pictured above, and 150 rooms and suites, with entry level rooms 400 square feet, with one king bed or two queen beds. Rooms will all be 400 square feet and differ only in terms of bed configuration, whether there is a balcony or not, and views (courtyard, city, pool, or mountain), with the exception of Deluxe Mountain View King Rooms, which will be 700 square feet, with a private balcony, and located in the spa building with views of the mountains and downtown.

Suites start at 700 square feet, with Palm Canyon Suites 800 square feet, Pool House Suites 1200 square feet, with a wraparound balcony overlooking the pool, and the top suite, the San Jacinto Suite, 1500 square feet with living and dining rooms and a wraparound balcony providing city and mountain views.

Dining venues will include the Amica Argentine Kitchen, which will focus on grilled meats, seafood, empanadas and other rustic Argentinean favorites, with live music on Saturdays and Sundays.
