A 60K Chase Sapphire Preferred Bonus Offer is available, and has been added to the Best Travel Credit Cards page. The offer can be a 65K Chase Sapphire Preferred offer if you add an authorized user to earn an extra 5000 points, per Reddit. Just be aware that authorized user accounts count for Chase 5/24, so take that into account when deciding whether to add an authorized user, or whom to add.
Here are the offer details:
- Earn 60,000 bonus Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4000 on the card within 3 months of account opening
- Earn 5000 additional bonus Ultimate Rewards points after you add an authorized user and make your first purchase within 3 months of account opening
- Earn 2X points on travel and dining
- No foreign transaction fees
- $95 annual fee is NOT waived for this offer
FAQ
Am I Eligible for the Bonus If I Already Have the Chase Sapphire Reserve?
No; Chase only awards the bonus to new cardmember bonus if you don't currently have a Sapphire card and haven't received a bonus for a Sapphire card within the past 24 months.
I Just Applied for the 50K Chase Sapphire Preferred! Can I Receive This Higher Bonus?
Unlikely, because the 50K bonus offer waives the annual fee the first year, so it's a different offer. You can try to send Chase a secure message to see if you could pay the annual fee and be switched to the 60K bonus offer, but I wouldn't get your hopes up. Your best chance of getting Chase to match an offer is when the card offer, apart from the bonus points, is exactly the same, and there's no difference in the annual fee waiver or any other aspect, apart from the awarded bonus points.
Which are the Best Ways to Use Chase Ultimate Rewards Points?
My current favorite redemption is Korean Air's New Kosmo Suite 2.0, found 0n its 747-8 aircraft, since Ultimate Rewards points transfer 1:1 to Korean Air SkyPass. Other good transfer partners are Singapore KrisFlyer, to reserve Singapore Suite, Singapore First Class, Singapore Business Class, and other Star Alliance awards such as ANA First Class, SWISS Business Class, Austrian Business Class and Brussels Business Class; United MileagePlus; and Air France/KLM Flying Blue for Air France Business Class and KLM Business Class awards. Note that while it is possible to transfer Ultimate Rewards to other partners such as Southwest, Hyatt, Marriott and other programs, these redemptions are lower value than the ones I mention above.
The Verdict
If you only look at the bonus, this 60K Chase Sapphire Preferred (or 65K Chase Sapphire Preferred, with the authorized user bonus) is better than the Chase Sapphire Reserve. But because Chase now only permits you to earn one signup bonus for a Sapphire card, if you have neither the Chase Sapphire Reserve nor the Chase Sapphire Preferred and have significant annual spend on travel and dining, I'd definitely pick the Chase Sapphire Reserve, thanks to its 3X bonus of travel and dining, over the 2X of the Chase Sapphire Preferred, plus the Chase Sapphire Reserve's other benefits: Global Entry fee rebate, access to Priority Club Lounges, emergency evacuation coverage, etc.

if i recently Feb 2018 cancelled my CHASE RESERVE, when would i qualify for a Chase Preferred? would it be 2 yrs from cancellation date of of Feb 2018, or 2 years from when i received my Chase Reserve bonus, which would’be been back in 2016? thanks!
James, it would be 2 years from the most recent Chase Sapphire bonus you received. So if the Chase Sapphire Reserve bonus is the most recent Chase Sapphire bonus you received, it would be 2 years from the time you received it. The CSR was only launched in August 2016, so even many of those who got it when it first came out received their bonus in October 2016 or later.
