Singapore Airlines has announced that Singapore Airlines Suites Awards, which were previously only available at the Full Level, are now available at the Saver Awards level on Now, even at the Saver Award level it will cost you 182,750 KrisFlyer miles roundtrip from LA (LAX) to Singapore (SIN), but at least Singapore KrisFlyer does allow one way awards, so you could try out the one way for 91,375 miles. Similar amounts apply to flights to Singapore from Zone 12 "EuropeII" which includes London and Zurich, which do have some Suites Saver Award availability, though so far awards from the U.S. are very tough to find. Note that these amounts take into account the 15% discount you receive when booking awards online, which I hope will be possible, although currently the Singapore Web site says "To redeem your miles for an award flight on the Singapore Airlines Suites, please call KrisFlyer Membership Services."

You can transfer Membership Rewards points 1:1 to KrisFlyer, or SPG points, where you get a 25% bonus if you transfer in increments of 20,000 points = 25,000 miles.

Here's the Singapore Airlines announcement:

"Redemption bookings for Saver Award flights in the Singapore Airlines Suites on board the Airbus A380 are now available.

With the launch of this latest initiative, PPS Club and KrisFlyer members will have the choice and flexibility to redeem all award types in all cabin classes across the Singapore Airlines network.  We will be revising our award charts to include the Singapore Airlines Suites, which will be categorised together with First Class award levels for ease of reference.

Despite this change there will not be an increase in the current Saver Award levels for First Class.  All Saver Awards are also now valid for one year instead of six months.

There will, however, be an increase in selected Standard and Full Award levels for First Class which will also apply to the Singapore Airlines Suites. For members who have made a prior Standard or Full Award booking for First Class, the original award levels will be honoured for bookings made on or before 28 November 2012 and ticketed by 12 December 2012. Please contact KrisFlyer Membership Services for assistance."
