A Chauffeured Gate to Gate Transfer in an electric Jaguar SUV from…United Airlines? We were surprised too, since we more typically associate elite chauffeur gate to gate or lounge to gate service with Lufthansa First Class, specifically transfers from the Lufthansa First Class Terminal. Then again, Delta does offer a Porsche transfer to surprise and delight select Delta360 and Diamond elite Medallion elites, or for a fee by booking VIP Select Service. But here it is:
Select United MileagePlus Premier members transferring at Chicago O'Hare (ORD) can now be chauffeured on the tarmac between their connecting flights in an all-electric 2023 Jaguar I-PACE HSE, Jaguar's first all-electric performance SUV.
And in good news for United elites transferring at other airports, the program will roll out at United hubs in Denver (DEN), Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), Newark (EWR), Washington Dulles (IAD), and San Francisco (SFO) by the end of 2022.
Similar to Delta's Surprise and Delight complimentary experience, which can't be requested (only the paid service can), United bills the new Jaguar SUV ground transfer service as a “surprise benefit for select Premier MileagePlus members with tight connections.” If you're the lucky member, you'll be greeted by a specialized Premier Services agent who shows you to the waiting Jaguar on the tarmac and accompanies you to their connecting flight.
According to Joe Eberhardt, President & CEO, Jaguar Land Rover North America, the company is “thrilled to partner with United Airlines to further ignite the passion travelers have for eco-minded exploration, as sustainability and electrifying performance are at the heart of the Jaguar brand.”
