When to Go to Four Seasons Los Cabos
Among the best and calmest months to visit are March-June; July-September can get very hot and humid, and wind starts picking up in late November, with June-July and January some of the most windy months.
.
Four Seasons Los Cabos Location, Arrival, Check-in
Four Seasons Los Cabos at Costa Palmas is located on the East Cape, and is the first Costa Palmas luxury resort to open (Aman Resorts' Amanvari is slated to open in 2024). Most Los Cabos resorts are located along the resort corridor closer to Cabo San Lucas, while the Four Seasons and Costa Palmas resorts are located about a one hour drive from Los Cabos Airport (SJD), and about a 10 minute drive from the tiny town of La Ribera (population: 2000).
Four Seasons Preferred Partner guests enjoy complimentary round-trip airport transfers ($495 value) in addition to the other FSPP benefits noted below.
Upon arrival, our temperatures were taken, then we were led to a comfortable sofa in the open air lobby, where we were given cool oshibori towels with refreshing passion fruit welcome drinks. Afterwards, we were taken by golf cart to our room (we were asked if we'd like a tour of the property, but chose to go straight to our room to unpack and go have a bite to eat).
.
Four Seasons Los Cabos Prime Ocean-View Room
We were upgraded to a Prime Ocean-View Room that overlooked the family pool, with a view of the ocean beyond, from the spacious balcony:
.
Rooms are 680 sq. ft. (63 sq. m.), with either one king bed or two double beds. As always, we loved how comfortable the mattress and linens were.
.
The sofa bed was made into a bed for our son during turndown service:
.
The main bathroom includes double sinks, walk-in shower, and a separate soaking tub. I was somewhat surprised that the shower isn't a rain shower, just a regular shower head, given that the resort was so recently built.
.
Bath products are Byredo's Gypsy Water:
.
The toilet is down the hall from the bathroom, in its own separate room, with a small sink:
.
There were some nice welcome treats waiting for us in the room: fresh watermelon for our son, a birthday cake since we were celebrating a family birthday, and some exotic chocolate snacks for my husband and me that even included dark chocolate with grasshoppers (which believe it or not was fantastic).
.
Four Seasons Los Cabos Swimming Pools, Beach, Tennis Courts, Basketball
The Four Seasons Los Cabos has a swimmable beach, unlike the resorts along the main Los Cabos resort corridor, where swimming is dangerous due to strong currents and riptides. Our son had a blast boogie boarding in the waves.
.
Something to be aware of is that the sand is fairly coarse here. This isn't the super soft, powdery white sand of, say, Amanpulo or the Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru. But it's still enjoyable to walk along as well as swim in, and there are beach loungers to enjoy the view.
.
For couples and adults traveling sans kids, there's an Adult Pool near Estiatorio Milos, which is the left side of the resort if you're at the lobby facing the ocean.
.
The family pool area is actually one large free form pool surrounding Casa de Brasa, the resort's casual brasserie, plus some nearby smaller pools. There are also a couple of jacuzzis, perfect for parents who want to relax while still keeping an eye on their kids.
.
And for serious swimmers, there's a dedicated lap pool near the fitness center and tennis courts:
.
The resort also has tennis courts, as well as a basketball court that also has markers to be able to be used as a pickleball court. My son took a private tennis lesson that was excellent: we highly recommend requesting Coach Bruno.
.
Four Seasons Los Cabos Spa
While we didn't have a spa treatment at the resort, I appreciated that I was able to enjoy the hydrotherapy pool and spa facilities, unlike at Zadun, where all spa facilities were off limits for guests unless they paid extra for a spa treatment.
.
Breakfast at Estiatorio Milos
Four Seasons Preferred Partner guests enjoy daily breakfast for two at Estiatorio Milos, which is located by the Adult Pool and has a pleasant outdoor patio with a view of the beach. Here's the breakfast menu:
.
We started off with a Tropical Smoothie, a refreshing combination of mango, pineapple, and coconut milk, as well as Greek yogurt with berries and thyme honey, and French Press coffee:
.
Our son ordered the Baja Eggs Benedict with lobster, which came with a tasty chipotle hollandaise sauce:
.
Intrigued by huitlacoche, a kind of corn fungus that has been nicknamed “Mexican truffle,” I ordered Milpa's Omelette, which is stuffed with it, along with squash blossoms, cheese, and topped with salsa verde. It was very tasty and satisfying, especially when topping some of the accompanying potatoes with some of my son's extra chipotle hollandaise sauce.
.
Anyone with a sweet tooth should consider ordering what my husband got: the brioche French Toast crusted with cinnamon sugar, with vanilla cream and berries. It's the best french toast he's had in quite some time.
.
Limon Restaurant
We highly recommend Limon for dinner; see our review of Limon Restaurant at Four Seasons Los Cabos.

The Verdict
We enjoyed the best service at Four Seasons Los Cabos, of all the Los Cabos resorts we visited, and that's in line with our clients' experiences as well. There was also a much greater sense of space at the resort, even though we were there right before the busy holiday season. There were plenty of loungers by both the family pool and the adult pool, we often had a jacuzzi to ourselves, and on a couple occasions I was the only enjoying the spa hydrotherapy pool facilities. Our son loved boogie boarding, something he was only able to do at the Four Seasons since other Los Cabos resorts don't have swimmable beaches.
The room was well designed, with an especially spacious balcony to enjoy the ocean view from, and a convenient changing area by the closet area. The only thing we didn't care for about the room was the regular shower head (not a rain shower) and the fact that the doors slammed; usually Four Seasons mandates that doors close with a particular click, and don't slam, but somehow that standard got missed at Costa Palmas.
Dinner at Limon and breakfast at Estiatorio Milos were excellent, and we appreciate the unique chocolate welcome treats, with their authentic flavors.
