One&Only Mandarina Location
The new One&Only Mandarina is located on a previously undeveloped Riviera Nayarit coastline, located about an hour's drive north from Puerto Vallarta Airport (PVR). This is about 10-15 minutes longer than the drive from the airport to the Four Seasons Punta Mita, the closest existing luxury resort, although the new Rosewood Mandarina will be part of the same overall development, and located a bit further north of the One&Only Mandarina.
An advantage is that the beach here is swimmable, unlike a number of luxury resorts in Los Cabos.
.
One&Only Mandarina Rooms and Villas
The One&Only Mandarina will be One&Only's first residential development, with a number of private villas in addition to the resort.
The resort-specific “rooms” will be spacious treehouses 828 square feet (77 square meters) in size, with a choice between jungle views (Ridge Treehouse) and ocean views (Ocean Treehouse).
Both types of treehouses are 40 feet (12 meters) off the ground and feature private terraces and a private swimming pool. Due to the elevation, all guests must be 18 years and older when staying in the treehouses.
.
Alternatively, couples can select a Cliff Villa (jungle view) or Ocean Cliff Villa (ocean view), each of which sleeps 2 adults in a king bed. These also each have their own private pool.
The least expensive villa option that will accommodate a family of 4 is the 2238 sq. ft. (208 sq. m.) Villa Banderas, with two bedrooms, private terrace and private swimming pool.
Those who want a jacuzzi should reserve the Villa Jaguar, also a 2 bedroom, with living room, dining room, kitchenette, and jacuzzi as well as private pool.
.
One&Only Mandarina Dining
The resort will have three main dining venues. The most casual will be the Majahua Beach Club, right by the water's edge.
The Point will be the resort's signature restaurant, with panoramic views. A yet to be named celebrity chef will design the concept, which will feature creative Mexican cuisine.
The Plateau will offer garden-to-plate dining with Mediterranean specialties, with ample outdoor dining–possible in a climate that sees, on average, over 330 sunny days each year.
.
One&Only Mandarina Activities and Amenities
One of the more unique aspects of the Mandarina resorts is the Mandarina Polo and Equestrian Club, which will offere horseback riding in addition to polo lessons and hosting international events.
Outdoorsy kids and adults alike will enjoy ziplining and climbing at the Adventure Outpost, and sports such as basketball and tennis will also be offered. Don't miss a run or bike ride on one of the many nearby nature trails, and of course the sea beckons, with the chance to kayak, paddle board, sail or, in season, go whale watching.
There will also, of course, be a Spa with facial, massage and other treatments, yoga and pilates instruction, and fitness facilities.
Massages can also be enjoyed at the Majahua Beach Club, where there are infinity pools, cabanas, and child-friendly pools.
Speaking of child-friendly, kids have their own KidsOnly Club, which they may be heartbroken to leave, since it will have its own treehouse, butterfly sanctuary, cinema, games room, and fun activities from nature hunts to stargazing.

I wouldn’t consider Desaru Coast to be “existing” yet.
I included it with the other existing One&Only resorts because it will open earlier than Mandarina, in April 2020, making One&Only Desaru Coast the group’s 10th resort, and One&Only Mandarina the 11th.
