A 65K Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select bonus offer arrived in my mail the other day, with no 24 month language. I'm still working on minimum spend for my most recent 60K Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select, but decided to send Citi a secure message to see if I could be matched.
To find the Secure Message Center, login to your Citi credit card account, then scroll down to the bottom of the page, to click on “Contact Us.”
On the resulting page, again scroll down to the bottom until you see “Read Messages from Citi in the Secure Message Center” and click on the link.
When writing a new secure message asking for a match to a higher bonus, select from the dropdown Account – Offers/Promotions/Rewards and then write your message.
You'll receive an email acknowledging that your message has been forwarded to the appropriate department, and to expect a response within 24 hours. My response came within 7 hours:
“Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for your inquiry.
We have added 5,000 miles to your account to match the offer that you
received. This adjustment will be included in the total monthly mileage
on your statement within 2 billing periods.
Keep in mind that in order to receive the 60,000 bonus miles you need to
have $3,000.00 in purchases by [date].
Cash Advances and Cash Advance Fees, Card Membership Fees, interest
charges, late fees, payments, returned payments and returned payment
fees, transferred balances and items returned for credit are exempt from
earning bonus miles or statement credits. Merchant returns will reduce
the spend amount.

I was very pleased to be matched to the new targeted offer I received, while working toward minimum spend on my current new card. Keep in mind that there is no guarantee that Citi will match you; but it's worth trying, via Secure Message.
