The InterContinental Auckland, New Zealand has opened its doors, the second InterContinental hotel in New Zealand after the InterContinental Wellington, located in the nation's capital. Located at One Queen Street by Auckland's Ferry Terminal, the new hotel is a half hour's drive from Auckland Airport (AKL), with nonstop flights from DFW, HNL, IAH, LAX, ORD, and SFO, as well as many other Asia-Pacific destinations, and a 20 minute walk from another relatively new Auckland luxury hotel, the Park Hyatt Auckland.

InterContinental Auckland Rooms
The new hotel offers 139 guest rooms and suites, many with harbor views, located on the 6th to the 11th floors. Each features a Whariki (woven panel), curated by Beronia Scott and Te Pūawai Ōrākei Marae, the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei weaving collective.
Classic Rooms are 365-398 sq. ft., with either one king bed or two queen beds, with rain showers and limited, city, or harbor views.
.
Junior Suites range from 506-581 sq. ft., with a larger living area and a soaking tub in addition to the rain shower.
.
One Bedroom Suites are 602-807 sq. ft., with a bedroom that closes off from the living area, ideal for a family since the child can be put to bed on a bed in the living area, giving the parents privacy in the bedroom. There's also a Presidential Suite. The Club InterContinental Lounge opens in June 2024.
To help international guests adjust to the time difference, the hotel provides complimentary access to Timeshifter, a jet lag app which enables all guests to use the latest circadian science to adjust quickly to new time zones.

InterContinental Auckland Dining
Advieh Restaurant & Bar, helmed by internationally renowned chef, Gareth Stewart, is the hotel’s all-day dining destination, presenting a contemporary twist on Middle Eastern inspired cuisine while championing New Zealand’s finest produce. Advieh, which translates to ‘spice’ in Persian, was chosen to encapsulate the essence of spice and flavour that is at the heart of the restaurant and bar. Chef Stewart’s culinary vision offers a relaxed dining experience, emphasizing sharing plates with a lively ambience enriched by delightful aromas and energy. A rooftop bar on the 21st floor will open later in 2024.
