Hawaii Safe Travels Will End March 25, 2022. Visitors from the continental U.S. arriving in Hawaii starting 3/26/22 won't have to create a Safe Travels account or show their COVID-19 vaccination status or negative results from a pre-travel test. All post-arrival COVID-19 screening will also end. Through March 25, 2022, all U.S. arrivals must have a Hawaii Safe Travels account and upload either proof of full vaccination or negative results from a pre-travel COVID-19 test taken with a State of Hawaii Travel Partner.
Note that the ending of Hawaii Safe Travels does NOT affect international arrivals, who must still comply with U.S. entry requirements, including full vaccination and negative results from a COVID-19 test taken the day before travel.
Hawaii continues to have an indoor mask mandate, and private businesses are able to ask for proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test, if they choose to.

PSA: Make All Hawaii Reservations Far in Advance
As we wrote in Plan Luxury Travel Far in Advance in 2022 and Beyond, it's crucial to not wait too long as luxury resorts are filling up further in advance, and the demand, along with pandemic-related investments in filtration and labor, from housekeeping to dining, means higher rates. In addition to making room/suite reservations at Hawaii luxury resorts far in advance, we also recommend making car rental, dinner, activity and spa reservations as far in advance as possible.
Among our top resort recommendations? The renovated Four Seasons Hualalai on the Big Island:
