Guess the Hotel: Lakeside Luxury Resort

Guess the Hotel: Lakeside Luxury Resort

This Guess the Hotel: Lakeside Luxury Resort edition is of one of my very favorite properties in Europe. It's facade is elegant but fairly unassuming–you wouldn't know necessarily from the outside of the quality of rooms, service and dining that lies within.

There are fewer than 50 rooms and suites, some mountain facing, and others facing the lake. The mountain view is relaxing, but ideally, reserve early enough to obtain a lake view room or suite. Even on cloudy days the view is beautiful:

Our Junior Suite had unique artwork by a surrealist painter–can you guess the artist?

Welcome amenities included fresh fruit, different crackers and nuts, and excellent dark chocolate:

Each room and suite is completely unique, such that you reserve the exact one you'd like at time of booking (a rarity among hotels, even ones that claim to individually decorate each room and suite). Here's a suite that enjoys a round bed and a gorgeous polished wooden soaking tub:

For a swim, venture down to the pool, which also boasts a lake view:

Indoors there's a jacuzzi, sauna, ice bath, and Tepidarium:

There are complimentary drinks and fruit and nut refreshments, as well as an aquarium that even included unicorn fish and other tropical fish, reminding us of snorkeling at the Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru and Cheval Blanc Randheli.

Dining is an absolute delight, starting with breakfast. I'm a fan of luxury hotels that offer both high quality tropical fruit and fresh berries, and this hotel does exactly that: there was fresh mango, fresh passion fruit, and perfectly ripe strawberries, raspberries and blackberries–even red currants, for good measure.

We also started with delicious freshly made breads and pastries, with jams, honey and nutella:

You can order additional dishes made to order, such as this Egg Benedict with Smoked Salmon:

Don't miss at least one dinner at the hotel's 2 Michelin Star restaurant. I'll cover it in more detail in a future post, but suffice to say that just the amuses bouches blew us away.
