This Cordée des Alpes, Verbier review is from a stay at this cozy Small Luxury Hotels of the World boutique hotel in one of Switzerland's favorite ski resorts, also a beautiful summer destination.
Cordée des Alpes Location and Getting There
The hotel is located at Route DuCentre Sportif 24, about a 16 minute walk or 3 minute drive from the Gondola cable car that connects Verbier to Le Châble; Le Châble is less than 2.5 hours by train from Geneva, and a little over 3 hours by car from Zurich or from Milan.
The reception area isn't large, but there was no wait to check in, and I soon had my room key.

.
Cordée des Alpes Elegance Room with Fireplace
The hotel has only 32 rooms and suites, starting with entry level Comfort Rooms of just 194 sq. ft., with a Queen bed, followed by Superior King Rooms (290 sq. ft.), Deluxe King Fireplace Rooms (463 sq. ft.), Elegance Rooms (463 sq. ft.), and the room I was in, an Elegance Room with Fireplace (538 sq. ft.).
There's also a Prestige Suite (495 sq. ft.) with fireplace and panoramic views; Cosy Apartment (807 sq. ft.) that sleeps 4 with a king bed and bunk bed in the second bedroom; Family Apartment (1184 sq. ft.) that sleeps 2 adults and 4 kids with 2 bunk beds in the second bedroom; and Deluxe Apartment (1237 sq. ft.) with fully equipped kitchen that sleeps 4.
My Elegance Room with Fireplace was open plan, with a king bed in the sleeping area, a small desk, and a sitting area by the fireplace that was near the balcony.

The summer is the perfect time to take advantage of the private balcony. The table was a bit rusted and had seen better days, but it was still a nice place for a drink or a coffee, while taking in the mountain view.

.

.
The bathroom is off of the bedroom, with double sinks, shower, and separate soaking tub.

.
Shampoo and shower gel are wall-mounted and nothing special; I recommend bringing your own toiletries and bath products.

.
The toilet is in a separate room, just off the hallway.

.
I liked that in addition to the Nespresso machine, there's a separate hot water kettle for tea, and Dammann Frères tea.

.

.
Cordée des Alpes Breakfast
Breakfast at La Cordée is included in the rate and is served buffet style. Since it was summer, which is less busy than ski season, there was ample seating.

.
The buffet included small bowls of fruit and vegetables: pineapple, watermelon, orange, grapefruit, apples, grapes, kiwi, tomatoes, and cucumber.

.
For those who prefer to drink their fruit, there's a self-serve juicer:

.
I enjoyed the local cheese selection, which included Tête de Moine as well as goat cheese and other mountain cheese. There's also cold cuts and smoked salmon.

.

.

.
Yogurt with granola (commercial, not housemade).

.
Cappuccinos and other coffee drinks were included and made to order.

.
Boiled and scrambled eggs on the buffet are included, but there is a cost for omelets and other egg dishes that are prepared to order.

.
Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, Fitness Room
The small spa is open daily from 10am until 8pm. When I visited, there were a couple of lively kids enjoying the pool and jacuzzi, so it was tricky to get a photo without them in it.

.
There's also a small fitness room with a treadmill, bicycle, and elliptical.

.
The Verdict
Cordée des Alpes is perfect for those who want a smaller, more boutique hotel and don't need all the amenities of a larger resort such as the W Verbier. Breakfast was very good for such a small hotel, and I appreciated the friendly team's advice and help with a hike I was interested in, as well as a drop-off at the trail head. While as a parent I wasn't bothered by the family with young kids, including a baby, who were using the swimming pool and hot tub, couples should be aware that there is no age restriction on youngsters in the jacuzzi, unlike the W Verbier, where jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room access are reserved for guests 16 and older.
