Cheval Blanc Paris Will Open September 7, 2021, after its opening was postponed by the pandemic (see 2020 Luxury Hotel Openings Postponed by Coronavirus). Cheval Blanc is the luxury hotel brand of LVMH, which owns Louis Vuitton and many other luxury brands, such as Christian Dior, Givenchy, Bulgari, Marc Jacobs, Celine, Stella McCartney, and others. LVMH acquired Belmond in 2018, increasing its luxury hotel presence around the world, although the branding has remained separate. Cheval Blanc Paris will be the brand's fifth hotel worldwide and the third in France, after Courchevel and St. Tropez; the two other properties are Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives and Cheval Blanc St. Barth Isle de France in St. Barths.

The new Cheval Blanc Paris is part of the landmark former La Samaritaine department store, which is in a prime location on the banks of the Seine, by the Pont Neuf. The Louvre Museum is a mere 4 minute walk, Notre Dame Cathedral is a 12-13 minute walk, the Luxeumbourg Gardens are a 15 minute walk, and the Musee d'Orsay Museum is a 17-18 minute walk.
Cheval Blanc Paris Rooms and Suites
Rooms start with the entry level Deluxe Room, 484 sq. ft. (45 sq. m.), with either one king bed or two twin beds. This room type can connect to a Deluxe Junior Suite, a Seine Suite or the Notre Dame Suite, useful for families. We love that even this entry level room has a walk-in closet.
Above the Deluxe Room is the Louvre Deluxe Room, which is the same size, but with a view of the Louvre Museum, and the next category up from that is the Balcony Deluxe Room, also 484 sq. ft., but on a high floor, with a balcony.
Guests wanting more space but still content with a single large room should reserve a Seine Junior Suite, which overlooks the Seine River and is 592 sq. ft. (55 sq. m.). The next two categories are the Balcony Junior Suite, which is the same size, also overlooking the Seine, but on a high floor, with a balcony, and the Deluxe Junior Suite, which is larger, at 699 sq. ft. (65 sq. m.)
Suites begin with the Seine Suite, which is a spacious 1076 sq. ft. (100 sq. m.) with a welcoming living and dining area. This is the floor plan:
The Notre Dame Suite is the same size as the Seine Suite, but on a high floor, with a balcony overlooking Notre Dame:
The Eiffel Suite is slightly smaller, at 914 sq. ft. (85 sq. m.) but is on a high floor with an iconic view of the Eiffel Tower:
For larger families, extended families or friends traveling together, the on request Ravel Suite (3800 sq. ft.) can accommodate up to 7 guests in a master bedroom with master bathroom and two other bedrooms with en suites, and boasts a living/dining area with grand piano as well as a private screening room.
The even larger 4 bedroom Quintessence Suite, on the 8th and 9th floors, in addition to its two master bedrooms/bathrooms and two additional guest bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, has breathtaking panoramic views of the city, including the Sacré-Coeur, a private terrace off of its living/dining area, a private swimming pool, fitness room, spa treatment room, hammam, sauna, and screening room.
