Guess the Luxury Resort: Views, Wine, Art

Every so often there's a luxury resort where you almost need to pinch yourself to believe you're there, that it's not a reverie.

When we reached our (upgraded) suite, it was as though we were walking into light-filled, modern art museum. The living area featured double-height ceilings, with two large windows, chic yet comfortable furniture, and artwork on the walls and shelves. Upstairs was a second bedroom and en suite bathroom, in this duplex suite.

The spacious master bathroom features a deep soaking bath and rain shower in a Japanese-inspired wet room, as well as double vanities and Japanese toilet.

Welcome amenities included a bottle of wine from the resort's own vineyards, fresh fruit, and this lovely raspberry tart.

There's a swimming pool that invites a dip and pool lounging (a pool menu is also offered), as well as a spa that my husband plans to try soon for a deep tissue massage.

The winery produces some of the best organic wines in the region; enjoy a one hour winery tour, followed by a wine tasting of a variety of the estate's wines:

One of the several restaurants is a delightful cafe, where we enjoyed this prawn salad with crunchy carrots and radish, avocado and grapefruit with a honey and mustard dressing that was superb.

At the Italian restaurant, as a light dinner, we enjoyed a fantastic pizzetta with zucchini flowers, anchovies, ricotta, mozzarella and mint.

There are a number of art installations from acclaimed international artists; we took a 2-hour art tour that was fascinating and also a pleasant walk, with great views of the vineyards.
