This COMO Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos review, photos, and video is from our recent site inspection stay. Beach Houses at this private island have been a favorite of our East Coast clients seeking winter sun and sea a nonstop flight away, so we were keen to experience it ourselves to better understand its nuances.

COMO Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos Accommodations
The first thing to know about COMO Parrot Cay is that it's a “go big or go home” kind of place: don't reserve one of the rooms or suites, which are small, far from the beach, and frankly, underwhelming. To be happy, you'll want to reserve at least a Beach House, or if you're bringing your extended family or entourage, one of the private residences.
For a couple or a small family of three, reserve one of the Beach Houses, which opened in 2023 and in addition to a private pool, have a private jacuzzi (albeit in back of the house, by the outdoor shower).

.

.
For a family of four, reserve either a Family Beach House, with one king bed in one bedroom and two twin beds in the other, or a Two Bedroom Beach House (which I personally think is a bit nicer) although this has two king beds, so is even more suited to two couples traveling together.

.

.

.
And for three couples traveling together, there's the three-bedroom COMO Villa, with two king bedded bedrooms on the ground floor, and a spacious master bedroom on the top floor; each has its own en suite bathroom, and of course there's a furnished deck, private infinity pool, outdoor showers, and the beach and ocean steps away.

COMO Parrot Cay Dining
Breakfast is served at Terrace from 7-10:30am daily, and features a continental buffet supplemented with a menu to order freshly prepared items. Highlights were the homemade yogurt, pineapple, berries, smoked salmon, Green Goddess Quinoa Bowl, Acai Banana Smoothie Bowl, French Toast, and Cappuccino. Don't sleep on daily specials such as Indonesian Soto Ayam.

Beach and Pools
Beach Houses enjoy the best of all worlds: you have your own private infinity pool, while being steps from the beach and clear ocean water.

.
In case you prefer a larger swimming pool, walk down the beach (often you'll have it to yourself: your own private beach) to the Beach Club, where you'll find a heated family pool on the left (when facing the ocean) and an adults-only pool (not heated) on the right.

Shambhala Spa at COMO Parrot Cay
A massage or spa treatment at COMO Parrot Cay is a must, even if you're not a regular at the spa. I only get occasional massages, but the Shambhala Signature Massage I had was fantastic–I haven't had such an incredible treatment since a few years ago in the Maldives. Most of the Shambhala Spa massage therapists are from Bali, and their experience shows.

The Verdict
Let's just say it: COMO Parrot Cay is pricey. Expect to pay $4000-$6000+ before taxes per night for a Beach House for a couple (or small family of three) and $6000-$7000+ before taxes per night for a Two Bedroom Beach House for four, to say nothing of the rates of the private residences. This is a private island for guests who have more money than time, for whom flying to the Maldives, with the time and time changes that entails, is a non-starter, while Turks & Caicos is a mere 3.5 hour flight from NYC.
But with that out of the way, if you're among those lucky enough to experience it, COMO Parrot Cay offers privacy, beauty, and elevated service, cuisine, and spa treatments. Now, several villas around Turks and Caicos offer a great deal of privacy, but location matters. Many guests would like to be on a wide stretch of beach such as Grace Bay, but Grace Bay means sharing the beach with plenty of other travelers and locals (beaches in Turks and Caicos, as in Hawaii and some other places, are public). Parrot Cay, as a private island with only a few rooms, suites, beach houses and residences, means that it's not hard to find yourself walking on the beach with no one else around: your own private beach.
Service is also a huge differentiator for Parrot Cay. The international team includes not only locals, but long-time COMO staff from Bali, Bhutan, and elsewhere in Asia. That longevity of service and experience at other COMO properties means that service is more responsive and anticipatory than at other peer Caribbean resorts. This is seen not only with butler service but also spa treatments: my massage was simply superb.
Cuisine is also at a higher level, from homemade rather than commercial yogurts at breakfast, to specialty Asian dishes such as Soto Ayam, Papaya Salad, and Pad Thai, to authentic Italian pizza thrown by a Neapolitan pizza chef and baked in a pizza oven.
