KLM Has Launched a New Business Class Seat with Doors and Direct Aisle Access for its 777 aircraft, a welcome update to its old KLM 777 Business Class with 2-2-2 seating.
.
KLM chose Jamco Venture seats for the reverse herringbone, 1-2-1 seat configuration; KLM already features Jamco Venture Business Class seats in its 787 fleet. In addition to direct aisle access for each passenger and the lightweight closing privacy door, the new seat offers the following benefits:
- More seat adjustment options and functionality, including a back massage feature
- Seat reclines into a fully flat bed that is 198 cm. (78 inches) long. KLM offers one of the longest business class beds in the sky, helpful for taller passengers
- Multiple power outlets to charge devices, including wireless charging
- Luggage stowage in a lockable compartment with a built-in mirror
- Sunken drinks holder to prevent glasses and bottles from knocking over even during turbulence.
As with similar products, the two paired middle seats have a privacy divider, so that solo travelers can have privacy while travel companions can lower the privacy divider.
.
KLM has an ambitious timeline for rolling out these new seats, aiming to retrofit all its 31 777-300 and 777-200 aircraft over the next year, such that its 777s should all have the new product by mid-2024.
