British Airways Fuel Surcharge Class Action Checks are Being Sent Out, and I received mine today. Back in June 2018, I wrote How to Claim British Airways Class Action Settlement Money for Executive Club awards booked 11/9/06-4/17/13 when fuel surcharges were paid on the awards.
I was eligible for either 12,500 Avios points or $281. Since I value British Airways Avios at ~1.5 cents per point, 12,500 would only have been ~$188, so I chose to receive $281 in cash instead. If you chose British Airways Avios, you should already have received your points.
British Airways, which had fought the plaintiffs' (represented by Lieff Cabraser) motions to dismiss, certification of the class action, discovery, summary judgment and other motions, ultimately did not oppose the plaintiffs' final 10/25/18 motion to adopt the report and recommendation (R&R) approving the settlement.
I received my check today, December 26, and the mailing address is a legal administration firm in Seattle, WA.
