This Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel Review is from my husband's recent stay there, on a business trip to the West Coast. Fairmont has a strong Vancouver presence, with the Fairmont Pacific Rim and Fairmont Waterfront (both of them Virtuoso hotels) located downtown.

Fairmont Vancouver Airport Location and Check-In
The Fairmont Vancouver Airport is the only hotel connected directly to the Vancouver Airport; it's located above the main terminal's U.S. Departures section, so it couldn't be more convenient for travelers who have an early morning departure to the U.S., as I did. Check-in and check-out were brisk, friendly and hyper-efficient: perfect for an airport hotel. The wake-up call came exactly when requested, again crucial and appreciated.
Fairmont Vancouver Airport Deluxe Room
Fairmont and Deluxe Rooms are over 400 square feet. There's a choice of one King bed, perfect for couples or solo travelers, or two Queen beds, great for families.
The pillowtop bed was very soft and plush, as requested, and I slept perfectly soundly. I has so happy with this suggestion. Rooms are room was perfectly quiet and dark. There were blackout shades, if I had needed them (I didn't, since I had to catch an early morning flight to SFO). 
The overall layout of the room was charming and relaxing, and the bathroom was reasonably separated from the bedroom. The bathroom was bright and the gentle curve of the bathroom counter added a playful flourish. There was only one sink, which was fine for me as a solo traveler.
The bathtub was large and deep, and the separate walk-in shower was excellent as well .
Bath products are Le Labo's Rose 31, which my wife says she finds odd as a brand-wide decision, since rose tends to be a more feminine scent than lemon verbena, common in L'Occitane bath products, or Le Labo's Bergamote 22, as we'd had at the Park Hyatt New York.
There was a small work-desk, which was perfect for hauling out my laptop and getting a little extra work done. And there was a handy wall socket located right next to the desk. Too often in hotel rooms it seems impossible to find a place to charge an iPhone or laptop, so I have to resort to the bathroom socket and have to worry about my devices falling into the sink. No such worries here.
Pool
I didn't have time or the ability to use it, since it's open 9am-9pm, but there's an indoor pool and jacuzzi as part of the spa.
The Verdict
While my stay was very short, and initially I questioned paying for a hotel for just a few hours, I'm so glad my wife insisted that we did. While I'd slept some in Cathay Pacific First Class, it wasn't close to full night's sleep, and those few more hours of sleep at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport were crucial. So far, this is my favorite airport hotel in North America.
