65K Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select Offer (Targeted)

65K Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select Offer

A 65K Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select Offer is being targeted to some AAdvantage members. Currently, AAdvantage miles are my favorite frequent flyer miles, although it's possible that this will change if AAdvantage follows United and Delta in eliminating award charts and going to dynamic award pricing, particularly if this affects oneworld and partner award travel (also see United Will Remove Award Charts, Increase MileagePlus Miles Required).

We've redeemed more AAdvantage miles in the last couple of years than any other type of miles or points, primarily for Qatar Qsuites Business Class, but also JAL First Class, Cathay Pacific First Class, and Cathay Pacific Business Class. That said, there have been much worse award availability trends for Qatar Business Class, so do some sample searches for your desired awards before you count on using AAdvantage miles to secure them.

Here are the 65K Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select Offer Details:

FAQ

Who Receives These Targeted Citi AAdvantage Offers?

Typically AAdvantage targets new AAdvantage members; this can include kids, which is how we've gotten most of our targeted offers.

Can You Apply Using Someone Else's Targeted AAdvantage Offer?

Yes; although you'll need to enter the invitation code and the last name of the person the offer is targeted to, you can enter your own name and AAdvantage number in the application.

Do All Citi AAdvantage Targeted Offers Bypass the 24 Month Restriction?

Usually the targeted offers with a 9 digit invitation number bypass the typical 24 month restriction, which prevents you from earning a signup bonus if you've opened or closed any AAdvantage personal credit card within the past 24 months. That said, you should always carefully check the written terms and conditions of the offer you're applying for, and also verify the signup bonus and deadline to meet minimum spend when activating your new card.
