20K AMEX Blue Business Plus: 2X Membership Rewards Points Everywhere

The 20K AMEX Blue Business Plus (see Best Travel Credit Cards) earns 2X Membership Rewards points with no annual fee, even better than the AMEX Blue for Business card I got earlier this year, mainly for its 10X on restaurants for 6 months and 2X points on all purchases for the first year. I'll explain why, but first, here are the card details:

• 2X Membership Rewards points on all qualifying purchases on the first $50,000 per year (1 point per dollar thereafter)

• 20,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $3000 on the Card within your first 3 months of Card Membership.

• No Annual Fee

Analysis

While I'm still happy to have gotten the AMEX Blue for Business card earlier this year for its intro offer of 10X at restaurants, I've already applied for and been approved for the AMEX Blue Business Plus card, since 20K is an attractive bonus for a no annual fee card and I like that the 2X points on all purchases on an ongoing basis, not just for the first year.

And crucially, these are full fledged Membership Rewards points that transfer out to airline partners‘ frequent flyer programs. That means you don't need a card such as the AMEX Platinum, AMEX Business Platinum, AMEX EveryDay card, etc. in order to transfer points out. Perfect if you're not sure you want to keep your AMEX Platinum due to the annual fee increase to $550, or may ditch the AMEX Business Platinum, which on June 1 cuts its 50% points rebate perk for airline tickets booked with Membership Rewards points.
