The Peninsula Tokyo Lobby Lounge Location and Hours

The Lobby Lounge at The Peninsula Tokyo is open from 6:30am - 11am for breakfast, 11:30am - 2:30pm for lunch, 2:30pm - 5pm for afternoon tea, and 6pm - 10pm for dinner, with drinks available until 11pm Sunday to Thursday, and until midnight Fridays and Saturdays.

The Peninsula Tokyo is located at 1-8-1 Yurakucho in Chiyoda-ku, and is connected to the Hibiya subway station, across from Hibiya Park and about a 15 minute walk from Tokyo Station.

Peninsula Tokyo Lobby Lounge Breakfast Menu and Food

The Peninsula Tokyo offers a comprehensive breakfast menu with both Western and Asian favorites, although since we expected to be enjoying Japanese cuisine for most lunch and dinner meals, we all decided on Western breakfasts.

Our son decided on a full American breakfast with regular French Toast, selecting fresh squeezed orange juice and hot chocolate instead of coffee or tea.

A basket of viennoiserie pastries came quickly, and the mini pastries were flaky and as wonderful as in Paris. I also liked that the jams were by d'arbo of Austria, which have high fruit content.

His brioche French Toast was delicious and moist, and accompanied by berries, mascarpone cheese, and maple syrup:

I ordered a la carte, and especially enjoyed my plain yogurt with berries and housemade granola:

My waffles were satisfactory but nothing too special, at least for us, since we make better waffles at home.

A also ordered a cappuccino, which tasted fine, but could have been hotter; it didn't come with any latte art.

My husband ordered an omelet, which was shaped perfectly and came with crispy bacon, as well as hash browns:

The breakfast highlight, however, was his Banana Bread French Toast with caramelized banana. This was fantastic and highly recommended. I just wished there'd been a bit more caramelized banana to accompany it, and perhaps a drizzle of caramel or bittersweet chocolate sauce would have sent it over the top.

The Verdict

We enjoyed our breakfast at The Peninsula Tokyo, particularly the Banana Bread French Toast, the Brioche French Toast with berries and mascarpone, yogurt with berries and granola, pastries, and the crispy bacon. The waffle was fairly ordinary, so I'd recommend the banana bread french toast instead. I also liked that the jam was d'arbo, which I prefer to Bonne Maman and other common brands due to the higher fruit content.

Service was attentive, and our breakfast orders came quickly, handy if you have business meetings to get to or a busy day touring Tokyo.

If you've had breakfast at The Peninsula Tokyo recently, what was your experience?
