It's possible to be matched to a 60,000 bonus AAdvantage miles offer for the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select, by sending Citi a secure message. Recently I wrote that there's a 50K Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select offer without the 24 month restriction, which is great if you've applied for or closed an AAdvantage card within the past 24 months and wouldn't otherwise be eligible–see New Citi Signup Bonus Rules: One Bonus per 24 Months per Points Type (AA, ThankYou Points).
Potentially you can receive 60,000 AAdvantage miles as the signup bonus, however:
1. Log into Your Citi Cards Account
2. Click on “Account Management” and then “Messages”
3. Select Your New Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select Account from the Dropdown
4. Write a Secure Message
Click on the green “Send a New Message” button. You'll be prompted to select a topic, so select “Account – Offers/Promotions/Rewards” and then write your message. If you received a 60K targeted offer after applying for the 50K Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select offer mention this. Or if you haven't received a targeted offer yourself, note that you would like to be matched to the 60,000 bonus points offer.
As always, your mileage may vary, and there's no guarantee that Citi will match, but a number of folks have successfully been matched. Here's the response I received:
“I have added 10,000 miles to your account to match the offer that you
mentioned.
Keep in mind that in order to receive the 60,000 bonus miles you need to
have $3000.00 in purchases within 3 months from your enrollment date.
Cash Advances and Cash Advance Fees, Card Membership Fees, interest
charges, late fees, payments, returned payments and returned payment
fees, transferred balances and items returned for credit are exempt from
earning bonus miles or statement credits. Merchant returns will reduce
the spend amount.

This is good news, since we're working on slowly rebuilding our AAdvantage miles, after redeeming hundreds of thousands of AAdvantage miles before the 2016 Award Chart Devaluation for Cathay Pacific First Class and Etihad First Class Apartment A380 awards, and even some awards after the devaluation, such as JAL First Class on the 777-300ER and JAL Sky Suite Business Class.
