Asiana’s New First Class Suites on NYC to Seoul Route Bookable with United Miles!

Asiana New First Class Suite NYC to Seoul Bookable with United Miles

Asiana's New First Class Suites are launching on the NYC (JFK) to Seoul (ICN) route as of July 22, 2013! Asiana announced its new First Class Suites last July and have been operating on the Chicago (ORD) to Seoul Incheon (ICN) route (four times weekly) as well as Seoul to Tokyo and Seoul to Ho Chi Minh routes.

While Asiana's old First Class still gets great reviews for its food and service, the first class seats aren't at all private, especially compared to the enclosed suites offered in Etihad First Class, Jet Airways, Singapore Suites, etc. Asiana's old first class seats don't even have a retractable privacy screen the way Lufthansa New First Class seats do. The other new features include:

  • Fresh air from individual air ventilation systems in each suite
  • 32 inch in-flight HD screens
  • Touch sensitive LCD seat function controls, including a “do not disturb” sign
So far there's good availability for one or two passengers on plenty of dates both to and from New York JFK. While United.com is more user-friendly, I'd recommend double checking availability using the ANA tool, just to ensure you're not looking at phantom availability on United.com. See How to Use ANA to Search for Star Alliance Award Space.

The new First Class Suites are 70,000 United miles each way, and are a great new redemption opportunity if you're looking to go to Asia and can't find Singapore Suites or First Class for your dates. From Incheon, Asiana flies to a number of destinations in Asia and beyond including Bangkok, Beijing, Bali (starting July 25, 2013), Hanoi, Hong Kong, Manila, Siem Reap, Taipei, Tokyo and many more. Plus, this would be an awesome way to start off (and/or finish) a trip to Sydney, Australia! Or, get adventurous and venture to Tashkent, Almaty or Vladivostok…
