As we look ahead to 2023, in spite of economic headwinds, there's some good news in terms of new and resuming airline routes to some of our favorite destinations. We're especially keen on routes that aren't well served, where a new route either is the first connection between destinations or brings competition to a route previously monopolized by another carrier.
1. Qantas: New York JFK to Auckland, New Zealand AKL, from June 14, 2023
3 flights per week, operating on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

2. United: San Francisco SFO to Rome FCO, May 25-October 27, 2023
Daily nonstop flights until 9/30/23, then 5X weekly until 10/27/23.

3. Virgin Atlantic: London LHR to the Maldives MLE, from October 22, 2023
3 flights per week outbound to the Maldives Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays, returning from the Maldives to London Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

4. Delta: Los Angeles LAX to Paris CDG, May 8-October 27, 2023
Daily nonstop flight

5. Delta: New York JFK to Geneva GVA, April 10-October 27, 2023

6. United: Chicago ORD to Barcelona BCN, May 25-September 27, 2023

7. ANA: Seattle SEA to Tokyo HND, from March 26, 2023
Daily nonstop flight. This is a route resumption, rather than a new flight, but it's more convenient to fly into Tokyo HND (closer to the center of Tokyo) than Tokyo NRT, where ANA's flights from Seattle currently land.

8. SAS: New York JFK to Copenhagen CPH, from February 9, 2023
Initially 5 flights per week, daily nonstop flight from the week of March 26 through the week of October 22, 2023.

5 flights per week
10. Jetblue: New York JFK to Paris CDG (schedule TBD)
