Sunflower Caffe is in downtown Sonoma, in the heart of California's wine country. We recently had breakfast at the cafe, which is open daily from 8am-3pm. Sunflower Caffe is located at 421 1st St. W, by the northwestern corner of Sonoma Plaza.

Sunflower Caffe Menu and Food
The cafe doesn't take reservations, it's walk-in only. Instead of being seated, customers place their order and pay at the entrance, then seat themselves in the restaurant's outdoor patio and help themselves to water glasses and water. Here's the menu:
.
Larger tables have “reserved” signs on them specifying that they're for 5 or 6 guests, so we opted for high top seating.
.
The buttermilk biscuit sandwich comes with options to add avocado, ham, sausage or bacon for an additional fee, but our relative who ordered it said that even the regular sandwich was tasty, especially with the gochujang aioli.
.
I got the Granola Waffle, a buttermilk waffle served with granola, berries, and maple syrup. It was good, but no better than the waffles we make at home.
.
The most filling item our table ordered was the Breakfast Burrito, stuffed with eggs, potatoes, cheddar, and poblano chiles, wrapped in a spinach tortilla and topped with green chile sauce and cotija cheese.
.
The Verdict
Sunflower Caffe was a very good breakfast experience, but not exceptional. I enjoyed my Granola Waffle, but would have liked some more berries, perhaps some ricotta or mascarpone in addition to the maple syrup. The hearty breakfast burrito was easily the best value, great for a hungry eater before a day of wine tasting.
