Pierre Hermé Paris Review

Pierre Hermé's Paris is a must-visit for those with a sweet tooth who find themselves in Paris.

Pierre Hermé Paris Location and Hours

This flagship location is at 72 rue Bonaparte, in the 6th arrondissement. It's a 2-minute walk to the Saint-Sulpice Metro Station (line 4) or 4-minute walk to Mabillon (line 10). The boutique is open from 11am to 8pm Monday-Thursday, 10am-8pm Friday-Saturday, and 10am-7pm Sunday.

Pierre Hermé Paris Pastries and Macarons

While it's possible to buy Pierre Hermé macarons in quite a number of Macarons & Chocolates outlets, there are fewer boutiques, primarily in France and Japan (with outposts in Doha, Hong Kong, Marrakech, Monaco and Riyadh) that sell the pastries, which require a dedicated trained pastry chef to create.

Ispahan, made with rose macarons, litchi, and raspberries, is quintessentially Pierre Hermé, and one of his lighter, fruitier concoctions.

As well-known as Isapahan is, my favorite Pierre Hermé pastry is the 2000 Feuilles, with its layers of caramelized pastry, creamy hazelnut mousseline cream, crushed hazelnuts and crispy crêpe dentelle biscuit.

I also recommend not missing out on the Saint-Honore Envie if you enjoy black currant:

There are also large pastries and whole tarts that are perfect to bring to a dinner party, from a large Ispahan or 2000 Feuilles to an Apricot Tart or Ella Lemon Berry Tart.

There are of course macarons. While there are pre-packaged gift boxes, I recommend selecting your own; the passion fruit chocolate Mogador is our favorite.

There are also chocolate bars and individual chocolates; we were kindly offered a choice of complimentary delicious chocolates while we shopped (cassis is excellent) but we've always focused on the pastries.

That said, if it's a very hot summer day, you'll be happy to know that Pierre Hermé's Bonaparte location offers ice cream. We do, however, recommend also visiting Berthillon on Île Saint-Louis for some of the best ice creams and sorbets in Paris.
