Last 3 Days: 100K AMEX Business Platinum Bonus Offer

The 100K AMEX Business Platinum bonus offer expires January 25, and is the highest public offer ever for this card, although there have been some targeted 150K bonus offers (typically to people who have never had an AMEX card or aren't current AMEX card members). The spend required to earn the 100K bonus is significant, so it's best for those who either have naturally high spend or can have high spend over the next 3 months, for example due to a home renovation, wedding, honeymoon, medical bills, etc.

FAQ

Is the AMEX Business Platinum Worth Keeping Past the First Year?

Probably not, for most people. Unlike the Chase Sapphire Reserve, which has all travel and dining as great 3X categories, the AMEX Business Platinum only has a 1.5X point bonus on single transactions of $5000 or more, and a 50% points rebate when using Pay with Points to book any first class or business class airline ticket (or economy ticket only for your selected airline).

I suppose if you visit a lot of Centurion Lounges during the year that could make it worthwhile, since you'd otherwise pay $50 per adult for entrance if you don't have an AMEX Platinum or Centurion card.

Where Are the AMEX Centurion Lounges Located?

Current AMEX Centurion Lounge locations are:
Future Centurion Lounges will be located at:
  • Philadelphia PHL (later in 2017)
  • Los Angeles LAX (date TBD)
  • Chicago ORD (date TBD)

Am I Eligible for the 100K Signup Bonus if I Previously Had the AMEX Business Platinum?

No; AMEX terms are: “Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product.”

Am I Eligible for the 100K Signup Bonus if I Have or Had the AMEX Platinum Personal Card or Mercedes-Benz Platinum AMEX?

Yes; if you don't have and have never had the business version of the AMEX Platinum, you're eligible for the bonus. Personal and business cards are considered separate products, so you can earn the signup bonus if you only have/have had the personal AMEX Platinum.

What's the Best Use of AMEX Membership Rewards Points?

I prefer to transfer AMEX Membership Rewards points to Singapore KrisFlyer for Singapore First Class, Singapore Suites and Singapore Business Class award tickets, but clients also like to transfer to Aeroplan, ANA, Delta and Asia Miles (Cathay Pacific).
