Jumby Bay Leaves Rosewood, Joins Oetker Collection

Jumby Bay in St. John's, Antigua is leaving Rosewood and joining the Oetker Collection. It will reopen as an Oetker Collection resort on October 9, 2017, after a 6 week closure from the end of August until the beginning of October.

While both Rosewood and Oetker operate in the luxury segment, and Rosewood has some fanatastic properties such as Las Ventanas al Paraiso in Cabo San Lucas, I'm excited to see this new development for Jumby Bay. It's hard to consistently maintain true luxury service standards at many Caribbean properties, but Oetker Collection's Eden Rock in St. Barths is exceptional. Then again, St. Barths' top properties are some of the best service-wise in the Caribbean.

Jumby Bay is especially known for its 50 stand-alone and fully staffed villas that are great for extended families and groups of friends; some of them offer 9 bedrooms and direct access to a private beach. There are just 40 individual rooms and suites, although the number of villas enables resort amenities you'd typically only find at a larger resort: 3 restaurants, full spa and fitness facilities including water sports, and 5 tennis courts.
