.
This luxury hotel, once the palatial headquarters of a bank, has been reborn with the glamour of yesteryear, seen its meticulously restored facades, elegant lobby, and wholly new luxury hotel rooms and suites.
.
Enter the lobby and your eye is drawn upwards to original stained glass:
.
The staircase leading up from the lobby is a replica, but a gorgeously rendered one. It's also highly practical, making it easier to go up or down a floor or two to get to the Spa without waiting for an elevator.
.
Many rooms and suites have incredibly high ceilings, lending further airiness and natural light to the beautifully appointed residential spaces.
.
Fresh flowers add so much to a room or suite, so I was pleased to see the vibrant red of anthuriums in the marble bathroom:
.
Speaking of bathrooms, the marble in many of them is gorgeous. Here's the soaking tub in our bathroom:
.
And here's the stand alone tub with a view in one of the best suites:
.
The Spa, the largest in the city, encompasses multiple floors. Even though it's one of the hotel's busiest seasons, we had the pool area to ourselves to swim a few laps. The skylights bathe the pool in light, creating a more resort-like space.
.
Don't miss the terrace just off the pool deck to take in the views:
.
If you crave some nourishment with your views, head up to the 7th floor restaurant. We enjoyed delicious guacamole prepared tableside, and shared a decadent burger gilded with foie gras.
.

Looks like the Four Seasons Madrid. Very curious about staying at this one…
Yes! It’s the Four Seasons Madrid. We’ll be reviewing the hotel in more detail later, but it’s a gorgeous property.
