What Benefits Does Voyager Elite Status Include?
The key benefits of Langham Voyager elite status over the lower tier of Gateway are:
- Upgrade to next room category, subject to availability
- Late 6pm checkout, subject to availability
- One additional personalized welcome amenity (choose from red wine, white wine, chocolate, cookies, etc.)
- One suite upgrade voucher per year, after becoming a Voyager member and when staying 5 or more times within a 12 month period
Is Langham Elite Status Always Honored?
While I haven't yet stayed at a Langham Hotel using Voyager elite status, my sense from reports is that Langham hotels are more inconsistent than one would wish about honoring the various elite status benefits. They are better at honoring Virtuoso or AMEX Fine Hotels and Resorts benefits for the Langham properties that have these affiliations. If you have Voyager status and the elite benefits aren't recognized proactively by the hotel, don't hesitate to request them.
What's the Difference Between Langham and Langham Place?
Langham hotels tend to be classic, elegant luxury; Langham Place hotels have a much more modern aesthetic, with more of a hip and even quirky personality. If Langham Hotels are more like the Ritz-Carlton, then Langham Place hotels are more akin to Le Parker Meridien (at least, that's what Langham Place Mongkok in Hong Kong reminded me of) or, at the high end, such as the newly reflagged Langham Place Fifth Avenue (formerly The Setai Fifth Avenue), similar to the Park Hyatt.
