Daily Getaways: Hyatt Points for Less Than 1 Cent per Point Tomorrow 1pm

Daily Getaways-Hyatt Points for Less Than 1 Cent Per Point

Daily Getaways is offering Hyatt point packages tomorrow July 11 at 1pm, that equate to about 1 cent per Hyatt point.

Daily Getaways is an annual promotion by American Express and the U.S. Travel Association. It's been so lackluster this year I haven't bothered to write about any of the promotions, since I just don't think they've been worth it. The other problem is that the one promotion that is actually a decent value, buying Hyatt points for about 1 cent per point, is likely to sell out in seconds.

Tip: Don't forget to use your American Express card to get an extra 10% off. You'll see the 10% discount after entering your AMEX card details.

Nevertheless, on the offchance you have a super fast Internet connection and are lucky, here goes:

  • 100 packages of 24,000 Hyatt points for $234 (including the AMEX 10% discount) = $0.00975 per point
  • 35 packages of 30,000 Hyatt points for $297 (including the AMEX 10% discount) = $0.0099 per point
  • 15 packages of 36,000 Hyatt points for $373.50 (including the AMEX 10% discount) = $0.010375 per point
  • 15 packages of 69,000 Hyatt points for $697.50 (including the AMEX 10% discount) = $0.0101087 per point

FAQ

Do I Need to Already Be a Hyatt Gold Passport Member to Buy Points?

Yes: if you haven't already, join Hyatt Gold Passport to get a Hyatt Gold Passport number.

The Packages Refer to “Two Nights in an Elite Hyatt Hotel”–Do I Receive Night Vouchers or Hyatt Points?

You'll receive Hyatt points, deposited into your Hyatt Gold Passport account.

Do I Need to Be a U.S. Resident to Buy Points?

Nope–any Hyatt Gold Passport member in the world can buy these packages. Although note that the 10% discount is only if you pay with an American Express card, and most AMEX cards charge a foreign transaction fee (except for the AMEX Platinum) which may disadvantage overseas buyers, since the transaction will be processed in the U.S.

How Many Hyatt Points Packages Can I Buy?

This is almost a moot point, since you'll be extremely lucky to even manage to buy one package, due to the number of users all trying to buy these simultaneously.
  • You may buy 1 set of a given package, e.g. 1 of the 35 packages of 30K Hyatt points
  • You may buy a maximum of 4 sets of points per membership number. So, theoretically, you could buy 1 each of the 24K points package, 30K points package, 36K points package and 69K points package. Operative word: *theoretically*!

Darn! Didn't Manage to Buy a Points Package–What Are Other Good Ways to Earn Hyatt Points?

See Best Ways to Earn Hyatt Points Faster. Keep in mind that you could earn 24,000 Hyatt points by spending $4800 on gift cards at an office supply store with your Ink Bold or Ink Plus. My favorite? Amazon gift cards, since it lets us earn 5X on all Amazon spend, including Subscribe and Save items. But any retailer that you normally spend on is good too–for example, don't forget to reload your Starbucks card with Starbucks gift cards, so you can both get 5X on Starbucks spend and receive your free food or drink item after every 12 transactions.
