Cheval Blanc London Mayfair

9/21 Update: Unfortunately the developer has pulled out, so Cheval Blanc London Mayfair won't open after all, a disappointment as Cheval Blanc has become one of our clients' favorite luxury hotel brands.

Cheval Blanc London Mayfair Has Been Approved by Westminster council's planning subcommittee, subject to the mayor's approval and certain conditions. This means that, absent any unexpected roadblocks, work would begin in early 2020, and the new Cheval Blanc London opening would be planned for Q3 2022.

The project, which is expected to cost £500 million, is a joint venture between LVMH and real estate firm O and H Group. Foster and Partners was appointed to design the project, which will be anchored by the hotel and its dining venues, but also include luxury retail. The council determined that the Fosters proposals were “acceptable in land use, amenity, design and conservation grounds,” including moving the Grade II listed John Bruckland-designed 1974 shopfront for Wartski Jewellers in Grafton Street to the new Fosters building on Bruton Lane and Barlow Place.

Cheval Blanc is the luxury hotel and resort brand of Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, which includes 70 luxury brands such as fashion houses Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton and Givenchy; watches and jewelry brands Bvlgari, Hublot and TAG Heuer, and alcohol brands Dom Perignon, Hennessy, Krug, Moet & Chandon, and Château Cheval Blanc in St. Emilion, from which the Cheval Blanc luxury hotel brand is derived. Cheval Blanc announced its acquisition of Belmond late 2018, and acquired its 4th maison, Cheval Blanc St. Tropez, last year. Cheval Blanc Paris will open in Spring 2020.

Cheval Blanc London Location

Cheval Blanc London will be located at 8-14 Grafton in posh Mayfair, a short walk to St. James Park, and about a 10 minute walk to Hyde Park. There will be a porte cochere entrance off of Grafton Street for guest drop-off and the entrance.

Cheval Blanc London Amenities

The new Cheval Blanc London would be 12,345 sq. meters (132,880 sq. feet) and would have 83 rooms and suites, as well as an underground spa, and restaurants, including an LVMH cafe.
