Cathay Pacific Has Launched New First Class Bedding and Wellness Menus, as well as new business class bedding. Last year and earlier this year, Cathay rolled out new business class dining. Here are the new features:

New Cathay Pacific First Class Bedding and Menus
Cathay Pacific's First Class hard product isn't changing, which is a good thing in my view, since its cabin of 6 extra wide first class seats in a 1-1-1 configuration is one of the most private of any commercial first class.
What will change is new bedding, with a 600-thread-count, sustainably sourced cotton mattress, duvet and full size pillow by Bamford, a UK sustainable luxury brand. Bamford may not be as well known as more conventional luxury brands, but I have to say that if Bamford bedding is as good as its bath products, I'm a fan. I've been savoring Bamford bath products from Le Bristol Paris, which not only have a wonderful scent, but are much more wholesome ingredients-wise than typical luxury hotel bath products.
Bamford will also provide male and female amenity kits that include natural skincare products in glass bottles, impressive given that this is bound to be heavier than the prior versions. Yet certainly glass is more sustainable than disposable plastic or aluminum tubes, since glass containers can be reused or recycled. This isn't to knock the actual Aesops skincare, since it's also a great line.
.
I don't see any mention of a change in the pajamas, in Cathay's announcement, and I hope Cathay retains the Aesops organic cotton pajamas. I don't know of another airline first class that specifically provides organic cotton pajamas.
On a more minor note, Cathay will also provide a welcome tray to First Class passengers, with a welcome note, hot towel, and glass of JING sparkling jasmine silver needle tea.
Dining, in my view, has been a weak point for Cathay Pacific First Class, so I'm happy to hear that new wellness dishes will be introduced, ranging from lighter options for the main and breakfast meals to healthy alternatives: think superfood bowls, lighter protein side dishes. There will also be cold pressed juices from Bless with “metabolism-stimulating ingredients” offered before breakfast to help passengers wake up refreshed. There will also be updates to the china (Noritake), cutlery (Robert Welch) and wine glasses (Riedel).
New Cathay Business Class Bedding and Menus
In Cathay Pacific Business Class, for the first time, passengers will have a Bamford mattress topper, in addition to a two piece duvet and 400-thread-count pillowcase, both of sustainably sourced cotton.

The dining concept rolled out earlier this year includes 3 appetizer options and up to six main course choices on flights that are longer than 10 hours. Meals are individually plated, to better personalize the experience, rather than being served from a trolley. Business Class passengers can also select an Express Meal to maximize their time for sleeping, and can use a new Breakfast Order Card to select their morning meal in advance, where express options are also available.
If you've recently flown Cathay Pacific First Class or Business Class with the new soft product, what was your experience with the bedding and menus?
