The Capella Sydney will open in March 2023 as the seventh Capella hotel and first Capella hotel in Australia, joining properties in Bangkok, Hainan, Hanoi, Shanghai, Singapore, and Ubud.

Capella Sydney Location
The Capella Sydney is located at 35 – 39 Bridge Street in the former Department of Education building, a heritage-listed icon. It's about a 6 minute walk from Circular Quay and the Museum of Contemporary Art, a 12 minute walk from the Sydney Opera House, and a 15 minute drive to Sydney Airport (SYD).

Capella Sydney Accommodation and Amenities
The hotel will have 192 guest rooms and suites, starting with the entry-level Deluxe Rooms (495 sq. ft. / 46 sq. m.) and leading up through Premier and Skyline room categories. Suites include the Deluxe Suites (828 sq. ft. / 77 sq. m.) and Skyline Suites (1022 sq. ft. / 95 sq. m.) and enjoy a separate bedroom, high ceilings, curated artwork, and ambient lighting for a residential feel. Suite bathrooms offer double sinks, rain showers, a separate soaking bathtub. All accommodations feature pillow-top mattresses with custom Italian Frette sheets, and Haeckel's bath products, as well as intuitive lighting, curtain, and temperature controls.

The crowning glory of the hotel will be four Prestige Suites, which range from 1130 to 2530 sq. ft., with bespoke furniture, fittings, and artwork.

The ground level of the hotel will include several dining options. Brasserie 1930, the signature restaurant, will have a modern art deco design inspired by the historic building. Diners will enjoy a menu of modern brasserie classics alongside an extensive wine list, served in a casual yet dynamic inner-city atmosphere. Ingredients will be sourced from small-batch farmers and growerswith cooking methods drawing upon age-old techniques such as curing, smoking, fermenting, preserving and pickling.

Named in honor of architect George McRae, the building's original architect, the McRae Bar overlooks Loftus Street and invokes the glamour of the 1920s.

Guest craving greenery will love Aperture, set in the light-filled space that is the reimagined Farrer Place foyer with a 12-feet-high green wall featuring nearly 70 local species of flora.

At Auriga Spa, a 65-foot swimming pool is lit by a large heritage lantern, and guests also have access to a fitness centre and yoga platform.
