How Many Points Will I Earn?
By paying with your Ink Plus, you'll earn 5X points on your purchase. So if you buy two $200 Visa gift cards ($200 Visa gift cards are the highest denomination that Staples sells) you'll pay $13.90 in fees for the two cards and pay a total of $413.90. 5X yields 2070 Ultimate Rewards points.
What Do I Do with the Visa Gift Cards?
You can either use the Visa gift cards for regular purchases, anywhere Visa is accepted, or liquidate them:
- Use the Visa gift card as a debit card to pay bills via Evolve Money. Note that only one payment per biller per month is now permitted.
- Load Bluebird or Serve at a WalMart ATM
- Buy a money order at any store that accepts a debit card; for Visa gift cards, the last 4 digits of the card serve as the PIN.
Is the 1 Rebate per Household Enforced?
Staples usually tracks rebate via mailing address, email address and phone numer. So if you have two or more homes, you can try to obtain a second rebate–YMMV.
I Don't Have an Ink Plus; Is It Still Worth It?
Personally I only find this offer worth it because we're close to a Staples store, and we can always find uses for a couple $200 Visa gift cards as well as 2070 Ultimate Rewards points. But factor in your own time if you're not close to a Staples store and/or not earning 5X points due to not having an Ink Plus card.
What Are Ultimate Rewards Points Good For?

Note that currently Korean Air Skypass is not a transfer partner, but Korean Air Skypass Ultimate Rewards Transfers Should be Returning in January 2015, so sometime later this month.
