Best Cabo Luxury Resorts and Offers

The Best Cabo Luxury Resorts often comes up when U.S. based clients say something like, “we want to go someplace warm but not rainy, within a few hours of the U.S. on a nonstop flight, but not Hawaii.” Thanks to its location in Baja, Mexico, Cabo is not only warm year-round, with lows in the high 50s in winter, but very dry, with sunny day after sunny day. Here's the current forecast:

The other good thing about the best luxury resorts in Cabo and Mexico in general is that service levels tend to be higher than in the Caribbean, the main other foreign vacation destination close to the U.S. You do pay high taxes and often service fees, but generally staff work very hard to ensure your comfort and happiness.

High season of course is Thanksgiving, New Year's, and January-March, with accompanying higher rates, but April-June and October-November are also pleasant times to visit, and fortunately there are some good offers for many of the resorts I recommend. Keep in mind that, although the Four Seasons Los Cabos at Costa Palmas is under development, it won't open in 2018, and will likely only open later in 2019. It's one to watch, however.

1. Las Ventanas al Paraiso, a Rosewood Resort: Complimentary Night

Las Ventanas is my current top recommendation for Cabo, and easily one of the best Rosewood resorts in the world. It has 83 suites and villas, fewer than many other Mexican luxury resorts, and is perfect for a couple's anniversary or birthday celebration or romantic getaway. Ocean Front Rooftop Terrace Junior Suites (with private rooftop jacuzzi) and 1 BR Oceanfront Villas (with private infinity pool and jacuzzi) are client favorites, with gorgeous uninterrupted ocean views.

2. Montage Los Cabos: Opening Special and Advance Purchase

Montage Los Cabos is a new resort that will open in June, 2018, so it's a great option for those who want to stay at a brand new resort and have enjoyed other Montage properties. The resort will offer 122 rooms, suites, and 3-5 bedroom casas, plus 52 residences on its 39 acres of beachfront property. Note that only the Presidential 2BR Suite, Casas, and residences have private infinity pools.

One&Only Palmilla has a lovely beach, so if the best beach is your top priority, this is a good choice; that said, I'd put the service and food quality a couple notches below Las Ventanas.

4. Resort at Pedregal: 3rd Night Free for Advance Purchase

The Resort at Pedregal isn't at the level of Las Ventantas or One&Only Palmilla, and doesn't have a good walking beach due to how slanted it is, but it does have lovely views, large rooms, and good food, second only to Las Ventanas.
