Oceanfront Studio at Wymara Resort
We stayed in an Oceanfront Studio; all studios are 670 square feet and open plan, but differ in terms of views and bed configuration. Ours had a king bed and large sofa with a coffee table. Unfortunately I found the mattress too firm; the Four Seasons it's not.

.
Decorative touches such as this vase and aromatherapy helped lend a residential feel.

.
Welcome amenities included a fresh fruit bowl (I loved that in addition to apples, there were grapes, an Asian pear, strawberries, and blueberries) and some delicious French macarons.

.

.
While some Oceanfront Studios are on higher floors, ours was on the ground floor, with a furnished terrace (dining table, day bed, and loungers under an umbrella) and walk-out access to the beach.

.
The bathroom, which has double sinks and a rain shower, has a window that looks out to the room and the ocean beyond, but there's a privacy screen outside it that can be lowered (presumably it's not in the bathroom itself as it would get wet from the shower).

.
I was surprised but delighted to find high quality Aesops bath products. Lately I've noticed several luxury hotels that have fairly cheap bath products, even some with parabens and/or artificial colors, which is a really unfortunate cheapening of the experience.

.
There's a little kitchenette area that included filtered water, a Nespresso machine, empty mini-bar (perfect for storing the berries from the fruit bowl), and even a cabinet with glassware, dishes, and a microwave. There was also a hot water kettle, which I appreciated, since I like to boil water for evening tea.
Volluto, Ristretto, and decaf Arpeggio Nespresso pods as well as Harney & Sons tea were provided.

.

.
I loved that during turndown service, a housemade sweet treat was left, such as this brownie. So much nicer than a conventional mass-produced chocolate.

Restaurants and Dining
We really enjoyed our dinner at Blue Water Bistro.
Breakfast, which is included for TravelSort Clients, is served daily at Indigo Restaurant from 7-10:30am.

.
The buffet features fresh fruit (including strawberries and blueberries, which I was very happy to see), cheeses, smoked salmon, juices, yogurt, cereals, breads/pastries, scrambled eggs and meats on the hot buffet, and an omelette station.

Wymara Resort Beach, Pool, and Fitness Center
A key attraction at Wymara Resort is, of course, the wide stretch of soft white sand beach and clear water. While this area isn't in Grace Bay proper, it's only about 3 miles west, in an area dubbed “Grace Bay West,” so it still has a very similar beach–but without the larger crowds that tend to be on Grace Bay Beach.

.
There's also a swimming pool, right off the lobby, but it barely has any view of the ocean in the distance, so our vote at this property is for the beach.

.
There's a fitness room for those who must adhere to their workouts, and some complimentary group yoga, pilates, and other fitness classes are offered.

The Verdict
Wymara Resort is ideal for those who want a wide expanse of beach similar to Grace Bay, but with more modern, contemporary luxury accommodation than is offered by Grace Bay Club and with fewer crowds. Highlights for us in addition to the beach and modern design were dinner at Blue Water Bistro, Aesops bath products, and the inclusion of fresh berries and smoked salmon in the breakfast buffet. What we didn't care for were the too-firm mattresses, no separate chamber for the toilet, and the additional charge for espresso drinks at breakfast.
