This Park Hyatt Aviara Dining Review of Ponto Lago Restaurant is from our site inspection visit.
Ponto Lago Location and Hours
The restaurant is located on the right hand side of the resort after entering the lobby. Turn right to proceed down the hallway, and it will be on your left.
As the main resort restaurant, it serves breakfast daily from 7-11 am, Baja Brunch on Sundays 12 noon-2:30 pm, and dinner nightly 5:30-9:30 pm.

Ponto Lago Breakfast
TravelSort Clients enjoy daily complimentary breakfast for two as part of their Hyatt Privé benefits. Since our stay wasn't during a weekend or a holiday, there was only an a la carte menu, but a buffet breakfast is often offered on weekends and during busy holiday periods.

A nice touch are complimentary conchas sweet bread bites:
.
Our teen enjoyed the Acai Bliss smoothie, made with banana and coconut yogurt:
.
The hearty omelet, made with housemade sausage, kale, mushrooms, and Oaxaca cheese was our favorite savory breakfast, and came topped with avocado, along with a side of roasted potatoes:
.
We wanted to like the Kurobuta Pork Chili Verde Benedict more than we did. It was fine, and the asparagus side was very good, but we've had better.
.
Similarly, the Baked Huevos Rancheros was tasty, but it wasn't quite as filling as the omelet, which we preferred.
.
Our favorite dish, apart from the omelet, was the Conchas French Toast, made with brioche, topped with berries, and drizzled with a banana passionfruit custard as well as conchas sweet bread crumble.
.
Ponto Lago Dinner
We had one dinner at Ponto Lago; we dined on a Monday when the restaurant was offering a “bring your own wine” night with no corkage fee, although policies may have changed as we don't currently see this offered on the restaurant's Web site.
.
We really enjoyed the complimentary arepas with avocado sauce that started our meal.
.
As one of the two mains, the three of us shared the Brandt Bone-In Rib Eye, which was nestled on an assertive chimichurri verde sauce redolent of parsley. As expected, my husband and teen especially enjoyed this.
.
I was in more of a seafood mood, so I preferred the Local Catch, a sea bass, in a Chintextle sauce made with smoked dried chilies, and topped with pickled fennel. An inspired pairing.
.
A tasty and excellent value dish was our side of Charred Baby Sweet Potatoes drizzled with a verde sauce and topped with pickled onions and cotija cheese. I could have been happy with this as my main dish.
.
The Brussels Sprouts were good, although we preferred the crispy ones we had at Seasons Restaurant at the nearby Four Seasons Aviara.
.
The Verdict
We enjoyed our breakfasts at Ponto Lago as well as our one dinner there. Highlights for breakfast were the Conchas French Toast and the Omelet. At dinner, our teen especially enjoyed the rib eye, although I preferred the Local Catch (sea bass) with Chintextle Sauce. The Charred Baby Sweet Potatoes drizzled with chorizo verde and sprinkled with cotija cheese was also a hit.
