This boutique hotel appears stately on its exterior facade, which faces a UNESCO World Heritage Site in a wonderfully central location in the city. Inside, the lobby opens into a garden-like atrium courtyard, perfect for light fare during the day or weekend brunch.

We enjoyed a surprise upgrade to a suite, which seemed more spacious than its ~540 sq. ft. due to incredibly high ceilings, a legacy of the building's status as one of the top addresses of the city.

We felt especially welcomed thanks to the multiple floral bouquets in the suite, as well as some lovely welcome amenities: a bottle of red wine, olives, fruit juice, and chocolate covered strawberries plus macarons.

So many even luxury hotels have markedly cut their floral budgets in recent years, so it's always a delight to find fresh flowers in a hotel room or suite. There was even a small bouquet in the bathroom, which featured a rain shower and separate soaking tub.

The hotel's restaurant offers superb Middle Eastern cuisine, both mezze and small-medium plates that are perfect to share family style. We enjoyed everything we tried, but particular highlights were the lamb kebab, sweet potato, muhammara, and chicken leg with harissa hummus.
