Chase 30% Transfer Bonus to Virgin Atlantic

Chase, AMEX 30% Transfer Bonus to Virgin Atlantic

.

A 30% Transfer Bonus to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club from Chase is available, joining the AMEX 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic that we previously shared. We're especially enthused about Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer bonuses, because of the many ways to earn 3X-5X Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent, between the current Chase Freedom 5X Q2 2024 bonus for hotels, restaurants, and Amazon; 3X on Internet, cable, phone services and travel with the Ink Business Preferred; and 3X on all travel and dining with the Sapphire Reserve.

That said, sweet spots and award availability aren't as good as they used to be, so be sure to do your homework and search award availability prior to transferring points.

Chase Ultimate Rewards 30% Transfer Bonus to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

Get 30% Bonus Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Points when you transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points through 11:59PM EST on June 15th, 2024. Most point transfers process by the next business day, but may take up to 7 business days.

Best Uses of Flying Club Points

By far the best use of Flying Club points used to be ANA First Class and ANA Business Class awards to and from Japan, but these redemptions have become incredibly scarce. ANA Business Class from SFO or LAX to Japan is just 45,000 Flying Club points (= 35,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points with the 30% transfer bonus). ANA First Class from the West Coast to Japan has increased to 72,500 Flying Club points each way (previously it was a bargain 55,000 miles), but with the 30% transfer bonus that equates to 56,000 Ultimate Rewards points. ANA Business Class and First Class one way awards from the East Coast of the U.S. are 47,500 Flying Club points (37K Ultimate Rewards points, with the transfer bonus) and 85,000 Flying Club points (66K Ultimate Rewards points, with the transfer bonus), respectively. Note you must call Virgin Atlantic at 800-365-9500 to book ANA awards.

.

Delta Business Class awards between the U.S. and Europe are practically non-existent. It is still possible to find Air France Business Class awards, although note these will come with taxes/surcharges of ~$275 from New York JFK and ~EUR 400 from Paris CDG. On the other hand, we've seen fees as low as $5.60 one way for ITA Airways Business Class LAX-FCO, although of course the redemption, if available, is more expensive, at 100,000 points each way. KLM Business Class is another possibility, which we've seen for 48,500 Flying Club points + $278 from New York JFK to Amsterdam AMS.

.

Taking into account these fees and the 30% transfer bonus, expect to get about 3 to 4 cents in value per Chase Ultimate Rewards point redeemed, which is solid if not spectacular. Most travelers will want to avoid redeeming for Virgin Atlantic metal, given the high (~$900 each way) fuel surcharges on routes to and from the UK.
