Air Canada Aeroplan charges 60,000 Aeroplan points each way for flights between Switzerland and New York or Boston and 70,000 points for flights between Switzerland and SFO; transfer points instantly from Chase Ultimate Rewards or AMEX Memership Rewards. It's possible to book with Avianca LifeMiles for 63K miles for flights from/to JFK, EWR, BOS (55K miles with the 15% transfer bonus from AMEX) although LifeMiles customer support is abysmal, so we tend to avoid it. United MileagePlus charges 88K miles each way; Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer instantly to United.

Where to Stay in Switzerland

Our favorite luxury hotels in Switzerland are the Park Hotel Vitznau in the Lake Lucerne area and The Dolder Grand by Zurich. In Geneva proper, we recommend the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva, and in Lausanne, the Lausanne Palace.
