City Councilmember Katy Yaroslavsky, whose district includes Benedict Canyon, spoke against the proposed resort during her 2022 campaign and, together with colleagues City Council colleagues, voted 8 to 6 to have City Planning Director Vincent Bertoni intervene to stop the project.

Bulgari Resort Los Angeles Rooms and Amenities

The Bulgari Resort Los Angeles will be one of Bulgari's more intimate properties, with just 58 rooms and suites. Rooms, averaging 1400 square feet, will feel warm and residential, with ample use of sustainably sourced wood. Eight private estates with private pools will also be developed as part of the project. The resort's hillside setting is unique for a luxury resort in the LA area, with hundreds of old-growth and native canopy trees preserved and a plan to integrate an additional 1000 mature trees into the landscaping to provide habitats for wildlife.

The resort will be designed by Milan-based Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, which has worked on other Bulgari hotels, as well as South African design firm Studio SAOTA.

Amenities will include Bulgari's Il Ristorante with its menu curated by Chef Niko Romito, who has 3 Michelin Stars for his Reale Restaurant in Abruzzo; an eight-seat sushi bar; a Spa, state-of-the-art-gym, and a private movie theater.
