There's a 75,000 Bonus Offer for the Ink Business Cash, one of our two favorite no annual fee credit cards (the other is the AMEX Blue Business card, which earns 2X Membership Rewards points on all spend). The reason we highly value the Ink Business Cash is its 5X bonus on Internet, cable, phone services, and office supply stores; the last enables you to earn 5X on all spend for Amazon, Whole Foods, and other retailers who sell gift cards in Staples, Office Depot, or OfficeMax. Whereas the no fee Chase Freedom card has rotating 5X categories, with the Ink Business Cash, you're able to earn 5X all year round as long as you can buy the gift cards at an office supply store, thereby earning 5 points per dollar spent.
While the offer mentions $750 cash as the signup bonus, it's better to transfer points out to airline frequent flyer programs to maximize value, more on this below.
Here are the offer details:
- Earn 75,000 points ($750 cash back) after spending $7500 on purchases in the first 3 months after account opening
- Earn 5X per dollar spent on office supply stores, internet, cable, phone services (up to $25,000 total on combined purchases; thereafter one point per dollar)
- Earn 2X per dollar spent on gas stations and restaurants (up to $25,000 total on combined purchases; thereafter one point per dollar)
.
Pair the Card with a Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred or Ink Business Preferred
While the Ink Business Cash is billed as a cash back card, its best use, at least for savvy travelers, is paired with one of Chase's annual fee cards (the Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred or Ink Business Preferred) so that the points earned with the Ink Business Cash can be transferred to airline partners such as United MileagePlus, British Airways Executive Club, Singapore KrisFlyer, Emirates Skywards, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, Air France/KLM Flying Blue, and more. That's because the $750 cash bonus values each point at just 1 cent, whereas we value Ultimate Rewards at 2 cents per point, and usually redeem for award tickets worth more than that per point, such as SWISS Business Class, Qatar Qsuites Business Class, ANA The Suite First Class and others. On its own, similar to the Chase Freedom, Ink Business Cash points can't transfer out to travel partners.
Do you have or plan to get the 75K Ink Business Cash to earn 5X on all Amazon, Whole Foods and other spend via gift cards bought at office supply stores?
